I like how we use famous Canadian actors and shoot Toronto as “NY” or some other large urban American city and still refer to it as “Hollywood” when people talk about “American” films.
Except for official pronouncements and foreigners, most locals still refer to Mumbai as Bombay or Bumbai.

I can’t name a single one. Nor can anyone outside of India. It is all crap.
As far as Porn goes, that is the SF Valley and not Hollywood.
Hollywood turns out a lot of schlock but gets a gem from time to time.
I can quote more than a bunch of bollywood movies that are great, not just excellent in the technical aspects but also content and acting. Just because you dont know any bollywood movies and cant quote any, doesnt mean jack. Please dont advertise yourself as American when you travel outside or meet foreigners. America doesnt need more stereotypes like you!
They’re junk.
I don’t dispute the caliber of past Hollywood movies.
I’m talking about now. Say, the 21st Century.
But, the West has never been the target audience of Bollywood.
The audience is in India, Pakistan, SriLanka, Nepal, the Arab States and East Africa.
But for you to judge Bollywood’s corniness and schmaltz by your standards misses the fact that they provide entertainment. Not your type of entertainment perhaps.
Anyway, no skin off my back what you think of Bollywood.
They’re raking it in fast enough.
Well, Spielberg and the Ambani Brothers have signed a multiyear bigbucks deal.
And, whatever else, the sheer spectacle and chorerography in the music numbers of epics like the recent Akbar, yes, melodramatic, schmaltzy and over the top, but, they get it right.
Like the old Busby Berkeley extravaganzas!
