When Ben Franklin first emerged from the Constitutional Convention, he was asked by a passerby, "What government have you given us?" Franklin replied, "A Republic, if you can keep it."
For 220 years, until last year, we did keep it. America was a democratic constitutional republic, governed by the rule of law, a beacon of liberty to the entire world. But no more. After just one year of Barack Obama's fundamental change, aided by the far left House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from San Francisco, and the easily confused Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, America has been transformed from a Constitutional Republic into a Banana Republic.
We Will Deem It Not Passed
Exhibit A is President Obama's frenzied government takeover of health care, which fevered Democrats insist they will "pass" by any means necessary, even illegal, unconstitutional means. The economy continues to flounder, unemployment still hovers at nearly 10%, and Iran persists in building nuclear weapons, which they vow to use against our allies and even against us. But Barack Obama is focused like a laser on bringing to America outdated socialized medicine concepts from deep into the last century, all the way back to Teddy Roosevelt, as he said in a recent speech.

Great article. As the Obamunist assault on America continues, you have to start wondering if any Repub politician has ever bothered to read Sol Alinsky’s writings. Obama is a by-the-book Alinisky disciple, and yet, time and again he catches the GOP by surprise.

Been wondering if the purpose of all this is to bring the country to it’s knees, then re-write the constitution.
Heard Schumer on Glenn Beck last night - he was recorded surreptitiously at a private progressive meeting and he was discussing not needing a 2/3 majority to make major constitutional changes - said they were exploring that.
Also, Obama gave 10B of our money to a Soros oil venture in Brazil and meanwhile has tabled our own drilling which would create over 1m new jobs, infuse billions into our economy, and stop us from funding our enemies.
The enemy within apparently is actively working against the best interests of this country and its citizens. I’m not so sure zero plans on leaving the White House in anything except a pine box.

Complete BS. This has been in the making for over 100 years. We've let this happen incrementally. It wasn't until the last year that the endgame started, but that doesn't mean we kept the republic that whole time.
The government robs 12+% of everyone's income for their entire working life and then IF they make it to age 65 without getting hit by a bus, it gets doled back out $5 at a time. And we've somehow gotten to a point where we can't criticize such thievery because it's not 'compassionate'.
Our government has inflated the price of homes to a ridiculous level with years of reckless policy and all we can do is try and keep them inflated with futile economic chicanery. And nobody says anything.
We've allowed our government to enslave an ever growing number of citizens by 'helping' them with a never ending number of social programs. And again, we can't criticize because if we do, we aren't compassionate. God forbid we should cut one of the programs, because 'women and minorities would be hit hardest'.
We have allowed public employees to unionize and conspire with an entire political party against the very people who pay their salary with tax dollars. We pay them inflated pensions and ridiculous salaries, tightening our belts while they get fatter and fatter.
Claiming that this came out of nowhere a year ago is naive and ignorant.

I am quite literate, and choose my words accordingly. I was speaking only in regards to the eventuality of Obama deliberately causing civil unrest. It had nothing to do with the normal democratic process.

Excellent article summarizing the communist coup underway now. The Federal Government has become a cancer on this Republic.
The one thing Ferrara doesn’t address: who is keeping the Republic anymore?
All signs point to revolution. The problem is if the American people have the guts to push back. People will be imprisoned and likely die, but the wheels of civil unrest have already been set into motion.

Our allies have 525 nuclear weapons for protection, with delivery systems. Here in the U.S. we have bigger problems, as our Republic is literally being overthrown by a dictatorial government.
For the record, Pelosi was born, raised and educated in Baltimore, Maryland and the east coast region.
Unfortunately, she like many other leftist from out of state, relocated to California.
