I was tipped off to a study done by the Beacon Hill Institute. I need to read the study to get a better understanding of it (it will be released tomorrow I am told) - but I was tipped off to the conclusion about jobs..and the conclusion is grim! Here is what I received:
"...This bill will cost jobs using non-partisan numbers from CBO. This is executive summary of the study from Beacon Hill Institute at Suffolk University in Boston.."
Executive Summary
Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has urged passage of the massive health reform plan moving through Congress as a way to create up to 400,000 jobs. Speaker Pelosi bases her claim on a report by the Center for American Progress (CAP) in which the Center estimates that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) would create 250,000 to 400,000 jobs per year over 10 years.
It turns out, however, that its methodology, stripped of unsupportable claims about savings in health care costs, shows just the opposite of what CAP intended. PPACA is a job killer, not a job creator. Using the CAP methodology, we find that the bill would destroy a total of 120,000 to 700,000 jobs by 2019, a far cry from the number suggested by leading advocates.

You won't hear me arguing they should stay. It's been my personal experience that half of them don't know what they're doing.....lots of technicians not many healers.
As if they care at this point. They wouldn’t be considering all of the parliamentary chicanery if they were concerned about the numbers. My guess is that they haven’t released the “fix” because it will cause even the CBO to have to say that this will increase the deficit and they have to wiggle until they find a way to weasel the numbers to look the way they want.
It still doesn’t matter to the true believers. I just heard Jan Schakowski ( a dem congres-critter from Illinois ) on a live interview say that Americans don’t care how the Dems pass it. All Americans want is to find out what’s in the bill for them once it’s passed! She kept waxing rhapsodic about how “kids” up to 26 would be covered under their parents plan and how insurance co’s would be forced to cover this and that and Don Wade stopped her and asked who was going to pay for all of this and she just bloviated till I was afraid that she might explode from such a release of methane.

Do some easy “research”. Next time you go to a physician, ask them if they will reconsider their profession if this “thing” passes. You will be shocked for your future when you consider the ramifications of their answer.

My doctor is 52. He said he would retire if this thing passes. He is one of the best doctors in my city.

That’s ok. Obama will just import them from other countries, grant them immediate citizenship, and usher in substandard, third world medicine.
But then Harry Reid will be able to say, “The US only lost 700,000 jobs because of this bill. That’s really, really good.”
Enjoy your waiting. Waiting to even get an appointment. Waiting in the waiting room because it’s so over crowded.
Enjoy needing to get critical medial advice and care from fresh-faced newbie graduates. With few older, more experienced mentors for them to consult and learn from.
