I mean he concedes California is broke, but never questions why.

Oh, come on, it is obvious - Texas has oil and California has CAPPED oil, Texas has a viable state Legislature and California has a calcified legislative process. Texas has no state income tax and California has a GREAT BIG state income tax. Texas has a business-friendly attitude and California has a business-ugly attitude.

By the way, San Francisco; when the 'Big One' hits, I will be remembering all of your current sins- 'lotsa luck, Chuck'!

Its obvious to you, me and anyone with an ounce of common sense! Mr Moford is very smart, and he is living with the situation on a daily basis, but as the old adage goes "there is none so blind as those that WON'T see."

To him the decline of California is due to Texas rednecks, "big business", the failure of Capitalism, and the GOP. It is, in fact, anyone and everyone's fault but the ultra-liberal elite and the rights-over-responsibilities/there-is-a-free-lunch agenda that they push.
