The Tea Party protests against the health care reform efforts on Capitol Hill today were smaller than previous efforts -- a rough CBS News estimate puts the total number of protesters around 600 -- but that doesn't mean there weren't fireworks.
The video at left shows what happened when the protesters reached the office of Rep. Gerry Connolly, a Virginia Democrat. As you can see, as one protester complains of arrogance and uncomfortable-looking young staffers survey the scene, the office door is closed, prompting chants of "liar" from the group outside.
The apparent ringleader of the group is then encouraged to enter the office; he declines. Another person then seems to ask the man to keep his voice down so that the police don't remove the protesters.
"Do you think that I going to allow a [unintelligible] take over my country? No sir, you're wrong," the man says. "You haven't seen what these people can do to our liberties."
"I don't care about the police, I'm not scared, I've been arrested in Columbia four times in my life," he adds. "...I get arrested here, no big deal."

It’s really nice finally seeing Conservatives protesting, we’ve been complacent way too long.
“Its really nice finally seeing Conservatives protesting, weve been complacent way too long.”
Yes ma’am, we sure have. It’s over now. They have awakened a sleeping giant.
[unintelligible] Democrats!
"[unintelligible]" sure sounded like "Chavez" to me. Wonder why these reporters didn't hear it? Hmmm...
“Chavez” clear as day. Funny they couldn’t make that out for the quote...
A roving Fox News Live Feed camera crew walked into a group of people gathered outside his building. I was out side on the steps speeking to a bunch of people who had surounded him. and the crowd on the sidewalk and in the street started shouting. “Gerry we are voting you out - Go back to Va. - Kill the Bill”! The Fox News camera crew stayed for about five min. and then moved on. The people were angry!
Should have been "He was out side on the steps ..."
I was at home watching on my computer. Sorry
They heard it, they were just afraid of making that connection and offending someone.
Now, the question is, is that someone Chavez or Obama?
One of the funniest memories I have from the 9/12 march on Washington was when the crowd started marching down Pennsylvania Avenue, seeing all the 40-60+ year olds first look confused and uneasy, and then get this look that said "wow, I'm actually protesting...this is cool!!".
Cowardly local MSM in Memphis didn’t even bother to show up when we went and protested in from of Rep John Tanner’s Millington, TN office today...about 100 Tea Pary, and ME!
Neil Cavuto said Rush gave out the numbers for congress to his listeners and now the phone lines are overloaded.
The numbers are also listed on Rush’s page.
Here is one of the ones he gave out on the radio that I’m calling. So far it’s been busy but I’m going to burn it up till I get to tell my congress critter to vote NO!
