Portland Tea Party After Action Report
self | 3/14/10 | bray

Posted on 03/14/2010 8:32:16 PM PDT by bray

Just got back from a spontaneous Tea Party rally in the Belly of the Beast. We had it in front of the Oregon DNC HQ in downtown Portland Oregon. An email was intercepted from organizing America from OBama and Tom Cox suggested we have a rally in front of their meeting. 150 of us showed up and 3 of them, it was awesome.

We had around 7 candidates running from local boardmembers to US Senator candidate. The powerful part was individual schmoes spoke and made incredible points and powerful statements.

Lasted around 90 mins and will have a video up in a couple of days, you will have to see this. This was like hitting the Beaches when we are protesting literally on their doorstep. FREEDOM!!

Pray for America and the Tea Parties

Way to go! Like I have been saying tonight - we need a national day of prayer, sick-outs, sit-ins, uproaring demonstrations, whatever you want to do but we must have a day where we stop this nation dead in it’s tracks. Nothing moves until we get the attention of the media, congress, kick Obama (the Kenyan bastard) out of our Whitehouse, shut down all federal agencies, stop the flow of money to the politicians and take back our country. It is our country, not the country of the impostor in our Whitehouse. He is a greater threat to this country than Osama Bin Ladin.

How bout shutting down DC? Everybody drive there early in the morning and block the roads by driving 1 mph for around 8 hrs. It would stop the city cold and there is no law against it.

Pray for America

You discredit the Tea Party movement.

It is not just about whoever is president. It is about Congress too, and the Dems have been in charge there for since 2006.

Make it bigger and you’ll get support.
Make it about Obama and you’ll get nothing.

We've got to do something extremely radical to get the attention of Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the Congressmen and Senators....
A sit-in, an uproaring demonstration that would scare the crap out of them............A FREAKIN' REVOLUTION.......whatever we need to do folks, we gotta do it or we will become a Socialist nation just like most of Europe.
Who can we get to organize this? All the Tea Parties nationwide meet at the Capitol? I don't know. I just know I'm getting desperate. Somebody give us some direction.

He’ll be voted out of office, hopefully along with a good number of other Democrats ... and that’s all that’s required.

Awesome job!!! Thanks for reporting on this, please let us know when your video is ready.

I am extremely impressed that our side was able to get 150 people there spontaneously while the other side, who planned their event, could only get 3. And this is Portland, Oregon!!!

Reminds me of one of our spontaneous rallies in Rockford, IL last year to counter the left having a planned protest for Obamacare. None of them showed up on the left. But, we only had about 25 people for our side...but, at least we showed up...

There is a Tea Party scheduled for April 15th. I intend on going to Washington DC to march. It may not be as big as last fall, but we need to show up and march.

Each car should be towing a hot tar trailer behind it.

I am not a tea party member but I support most of what the movement is about. However, I am an ultra conservative but do support making our changes at the ballot box, if we can. At 67, I have seen the best this country has to offer and this ain’t it. I am very independent 6th generation Texan who believes in action not words. May God bless you and yours and the USA.

I’m not an organizer - more of an idea person. But I could certainly envision a massive drive-in to shut down our major cities and D.C. Probably shutting down access to and egress from major airports might be the key. Perhaps thousands of cars driving to and through airport thorough fares could be the way to go.

Hey, I like it. Maybe someone with organizational skills will head-up this thing.
