Sarah did say "You Can See Russia from Alaska", and it is indeed true that you can see Russian territory from Alaska:
the Russian and Alaskan islands are only 3 miles (4.8 km) apart. This "scientist" really got his facts screwed around, conflating Tina Fey's slander with reality. It was Tina Fey who said "see Alaska from my house" which is not possible and wasn't said.
