House speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters Friday that "we'll take whatever time is required for us to pass" health care legislation.
"We stand ready to stay as long as it takes to pass a bill," she said.
Pelosi sent somewhat mixed messages, however, stating that "I'm delighted that the president will be here for the passage of the bill, it's going to be historic."
The White House announced Friday morning that President Obama will delay his trip to Asia, which had been scheduled for March 18th, to March 21st. The White House had been pressing for health care legislation by the 18th, and the delay was an acknowledgment that deadline would not be met.
I think they only have until November.
“I think they only have until November.”
Exactly what I was thinking.
Obama says HE WILL WEAR US DOWN ON HEALTHCARE

Alinsky-style out in the open!
“This week’s visit was Obama’s third trip to the St. Louis area since he took office last year.
At Wednesday’s speech at St. Charles High, Obama was joined by several local Democratic officials. One noticeable absence was Democratic Senate hopeful and Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, who has attempted to distance herself from Obama. Carnahan, the state’s chief security regulator, was in Washington on Wednesday talking to lawmakers about financial reform. ...
Obama pledged to keep fighting.
“I don’t get worn down. I wear them down,” the president said. “Don’t give up on me now we’re just getting started!”
...Outside, several hundred protesters representing a wide spectrum of viewpoints stood on nearby street corners, chanting slogans and yelling at one another through bullhorns.
A large group of local Tea Party activists gathered on one corner, while a smaller group of Obama supporters set up shop on another corner. Across the street was a mixed bag of protesters and activists who seemed less vocal.
...Hours before Obama’s speech, as many as 2,000 people gathered for a Republican rally at the St. Charles Convention Center.
“I have a question that I respectfully ask of my president,” Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder said. “What part of ‘no’ don’t you understand?” ....

It shouldn’t take that long. Pelosi says she has the votes. She ought to just pass it this afternoon.
Maybe a little less. The closer we get to November - the tougher it gets.
So last week it was Pelosi saying publicly: “I have the votes to pass Health Care”
This week she’s babbling that she’ll stay in the fight as long as it takes. LOL.
Something tells me that an internal coup to oust her as Speaker is afoot. There are probably a lot of Democrats in the House who have no intention of falling on their elected swords for her OR Zero, and will use this to undermine her publicly and tell her to take a hike.
BUMP!
Pelosi, Reid and the Zero have turned into the Boogeymen.
They just won’t quit.
Make that Dec.31. Remember, if we "throw them all out", they will be lame ducks and not care what the people think of them passing the bill then. The bill must be killed BEFORE the election.
Therefore McCain urgently needs my contribution of $25 to $250 in order for him to keep fighting the bill.
There were only 6 links in the email to his donation hole.
Yet I can't help but wonder why he needs my $ and doubtless countless others in order for him to "fight" the bill...any guesses?
Your point is well taken.
This statement should kill her -- she is stating that BO will sign the Sebate bill with celebration -- meaning dropping the whole idea of reconciliation.
Let this go viral
Well nasty, you got until November, so you better get hoppin girl. Shoosh - she is such a suck.
“I dont get worn down. I wear them down, the president said.”
He’s PRESIDENT NOW, not a community organizer...
He’s getting less and less mojo with every passing day of failure.
What’s the matter with this b——. How in hell did we ever get people like these in government? What’s the use of even having a government when they do not represent and listen to the voters?
Hurry up and pass the bill so that we will know what’s in it, Nancy!
