Bummer. I remember watching that show as a family when we were all youngin’s in the late 70s. I’ll let Mom and Dad know. Those were good times.

A GREAT, great football player. Just a top of the line defensive lineman. No idea what he was like as a person, but boy, what a fearsome player. God take him.

Where could he have been exposed to asbestos?

Awwwwwwww. What a shame. He was one of my fave characters on the show....and seemed like such a sweetie.

Plus, he was a good football announcer. And, he did those flower commercials. I bet he really was a nice guy when the camera wasn’t on him....unlike Tiger Woods.

“Little House” star my ass...that should be little tiny footnote...he was the heart of the FEARSOME FOURSOME...14 time Pro Bowler and one of the greatest players in the history of football...and one of the finest and kindest gentlemen to play the game. The National Felony League could use a few examples like this man today.
RIP Merlin.

I’m saddened that a great man has chosen to go down the lawsuit road. I don’t think back at the time he was exposed to asbestos anyone was aware of the dangers. It seems a pity that companies are being run into the ground with lawsuits of this sort. I’m having a hard time seeing how NBC could be responsible for his mesothelioma. Although they ARE responsible for a lot of other pestilences on our planet.

I just recently saw a number of “Little House” shows and I was surprised at how good they were. Very good family entertainment.
Actually, one of the best shows to show up on the
Boob Tube.
To: rdl6989
He was a fine football player, and unlike some of today’s athletes, he seemed to conduct his life in an exemplary manner. May he rest in peace!!
