What can YOU do to truly help transform the heart of this nation?
BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER!
Pray for God’s help in ending abortion, and in establishing a culture that supports life in America.
40 Days for Life consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion,
40 days of constant, peaceful vigil outside abortion centers and Planned Parenthood offices
and 40 days of active pro-life community outreach.

"They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters... and the land was polluted with blood. Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and He abhorred his heritage; he gave them into the hands of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power. (See Psalm 106:37-43)

Your community may be participating in this prayerful vigil.
If so, please join others in your area
or unite with thousands across America
in these 40 days during Lent
as we pray for an end to abortion in this nation.

DAY 19 INTENTION

We pray for humility in our work for God's Kingdom.

SCRIPTURE

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

-- Philippians 2:5-8

REFLECTION - by Ernest Ohlhoff, National Right to Life

There is no limit to what we can accomplish when we don't care who gets the credit.

Jesus Christ's life on earth exemplifies a total submission to the will of the Father. His humility, compassion, gentleness and thoughtfulness are reflected over and over again in the New Testament. He was God incarnate, yet He chose to be born to a humble, working class home.

How absurd it must have seemed to the rich and powerful that the Son of God, the Messiah, the one foretold by the prophets, the 'King of the Jews' was born and raised as a simple peasant.

During His thirty-three years on earth, He sought no riches, claimed no secular power and gathered no possessions. Yet, His short time on earth changed more lives, softened more hearts, and gave hope to more people, than all the rich and powerful human 'kings' combined. And, at the end of His life on earth, by dying on the cross, He opened the door to eternal life for those who heed his words and follow in his footsteps.

PRAYER

O Lord, help us follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Let us humbly and diligently work to restore legal protection for the unborn, the disabled, the medically dependent and all innocent children of God whose lives are threatened. Let us remember the old adage that "He can never lead who has not first learned to obey." And, Lord, grant us a peaceful heart as we labor in your name. Amen.

“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
(Proverbs 31: 8-9)

Holy God,

Though societies and cultures change, You are our God Who never changes. You are the same-—yesterday, today, and forever. Your Word directs us to choose life and choose it abundantly. Your Son, Jesus Christ, is Love Incarnate. We ask You to place that special love of Jesus in the heart of every woman with child so that each growing baby may be protected, nurtured, and birthed as You have willed. In His Holy Name we pray. Amen.

Many thanks. Sometimes the call for prayer regarding matters of life is not well received (even here). You’d be surprised at how encouraging a little “ping” can be. :)

Amen, and Amen. Praying in Agreement with you, Sister Faith.
