American Thinker ^ | C. Edmund Wright

While the ever-helpful Jurassic media is trying to force-feed conservatives and Republicans groupthink analysis of Rick Perry's thumping of Kay Bailey Hutchison (KBH), the GOP had better heed the main lesson: The "new tone" era is over.

Not only should the GOP heed the lesson....so should the Democrats and the left wing.

With what the Democrat Party is trying to do to the Country, I do not want the Republicans getting along with them. I want the Republicans to fight them tooth and toenail.

‘I do not want the Republicans getting along with them. I want the Republicans to fight them tooth and toenail.’

I’ve been following the advice of President Obama.

When I am arguing with the left,I GET IN THEIR FACES!!!!!

I do not want Republicans to get along with socialists. I do not want bipartisanship. I want the Repubs to clean their house of RINOs and then destroy the socialist DemonRats. I want to see conservative Republicans mop the floor with the (politically) dismembered remains of the socialists currently in power.

Stop the Quisling bipartisanship! (Hey, McCain, I’m looking at you). Stand up and boldly fight for America’s founding principles. Progressivism is NOT an improved form of Americanism; it is profoundly anti-American.

Perry with all his bashing of Hutchison now has decided thatg KBH should stay and it would be best for Texas. Typical Perry, all over the place and straddling the fence.

Perry urges Hutchison to finish Senate term

AUSTIN — Gov. Rick Perry, who spent the past year bashing Kay Bailey Hutchison’s record in the U.S. Senate, said Thursday that he hopes she does not resign and serves out the rest of her term.

In a radio interview with Mark Davis on WBAP-AM, Perry said he hoped the two might campaign together for his re-election, and that meanwhile he hopes that “the senator stays and continues to fight the good fight” against the Obama administration. .........

“It would in Texas’ best interest for the senator to stay there and continue to fight the good fight and finish her term out, frankly,” Perry said, adding that he had told her as much when she called to concede the primary.

end snips

Hmm, that’s not exactly how it went down. It boiled down to the lesser of 2 evils. It might have been 3 but then Medina was outed as a Truther quickly putting the brakes on her run (stop on a dime, give you 9 cents change). The vote came down to KBH who is all RAT or Good Hair who finds he’s conservative at election time.

IMHO, if Perry were true to his campaign, he would have had no comment(and let her fall on her sword) re Hutchison’s future, or he would have said that she should go ahead and resign ASAP so he could appoint a good Conservative in the interim, or set a special election, whatever is required to fill the seat. But, no, now the primary is over, Perry will revert to the “let’s all get along” mode-in other words, more moderation, indecision, and traits of the career politician he is rather than a true, principled Conservative.

That is Perry from head to toe. He's always been this way as far as I know but the voters made a decision and we'll live with that for the next 4 years for a total of 14 years under his tutelage. He has some major Texas Two Stepping upcoming in 2011 to come up with a budget and find the money to fund it. He used over $12 billion of stimilus money in 09 to balance the current budget and most like Obama won't be doling him that money again.

Yeah, it never takes Rick long to get back in his statist groove.

I agree..Perry was the lesser of 2 evils. But he has played it right this past year, more or less stressing the ‘states rights’ theme. Anti-Federal Gov’t...certainly appeals.

I don’t think I will ever forgive him the ‘Trans Texas Corridor” effort!

I voted for Kinky in the last election (as a protest)...LOL!

“Perry with all his bashing of Hutchison now has decided thatg KBH should stay and it would be best for Texas.”

First I agree with our good Gov. Goodhair, Kay Bailey should stay in the Senate. Even though someone like Michael Willimas could be more conservative, there is the seniority thing.

Hopeful KBH will take to heart this lesson that Texas wants MORE HARDLINE CONSERVATIVES, not more “reaching across the aisle” and play her vital Senatorial role accordingly.

Perry’s bashing was Kay’s own doing for her underminng him with her really nasty ads.
