The Religious and Evangelical Left, plus the Islamic Society of North America and a few others, are making a final Custer-like stand on behalf of much cherished Obamacare. In an ad featured in The Hill, a Capitol Hill newspaper aimed at congressional staffers, a religious coalition called Faithful Reform in Health Care demanded that Congress complete the task at hand on behalf of the millions who are left out and left behind in our current health care system.
Supposedly, these insistent religious groups speak on behalf of millions of religious Americans, most of whom are politically more conservative than the general population. If Americans as a whole reject Obamacare, then almost certainly most religiously active Americans oppose Obamacare. Presumably, the various bishops and other ostensibly important clerics who signed this ad are hoping that Capitol Hill readers will not realize that most church goers dont look to Episcopal or Lutheran or Methodist bishops for wise political counsel.
Opportunities to comprehensively address our broken health care system are rare, the pro-Obamacare religious coalition insisted with a typical sense of panic.
Decades of failed attempts at reform testify to the difficulty of this task, and we know that the current effort has not been easy. However, we now stand closer than ever before to historic health care reform. Turning back now could mean justice delayed for another generation and an unprecedented opportunity lost.

In these verses we actually see the second effect and detail regarding the man of lawlessness. The first was his unveiling, but this is quickly countered by the promise of his destruction by the manifestation of the parousia of Christ at His advent to earth. Now another detail is given, namely, the source of the lawless ones coming (parousia) and deceptive working in the world. It will be by Satans working. Literally, whose coming is in accordance with a working of Satan. This answers the question, Why and how will the lawless one be able to so quickly deceive the world into following him to the point they even worship him? As it was also revealed to John in Rev. 13, it is because he is Satans man; he is Satan-inspired, enabled, and indwelt, and evidently, the world will understand this and wont care.
And the whole world followed the beast in amazement; they worshiped the dragon because he had given ruling authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast too, saying: Who is like the beast? and Who is able to make war against him? The beast was given a mouth speaking proud words and blasphemies, and he was permitted to exercise ruling authority for forty-two months. So the beast opened his mouth to blaspheme against Godto blaspheme both his name and his dwelling place, that is, those who dwell in heaven. The beast was permitted to go to war against the saints and conquer them. He was given ruling authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation, and all those who live on the earth will worship the beast, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life belonging to the Lamb who was killed. If anyone has an ear, he had better hear! Rev. 13:3-9.
No such thing as “religious” left. Either you believe in the teachings of the Bible or you don’t.
There is, indeed, a religious left. But the Bible is nothing more than a figleaf to them. They worship at the altar of big government and force.
Still waiting to hear from the Catholic Bishops. Will they support socialized medicine out of “compassion”, even if it means free abortions for all? The silence is deafening...
Religious left? Are those the Universal Unitarian Churches with the lesbian “pastors”?
The Moonbat-Muslim axis of evil!
the Catholic hierarchy has made it very clear they are all in favor of universal socialized medicine, so long as abortion is not covered.
This makes me sick.
‘Fraid there is.
The current left if a descended from the Progressive movement of the turn of 20th Century which was extremely religious. Read Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg for the details. They thought they could literally build “Heaven on Earth” using the power of the State. Really.
No such thing as religious left.
That’s what I believe as well. But, Satan is a liar and a deceiver.

I guess you can be religious and leftist, much harder to be Christian and left or observant Jewish and left.
