Campbell Brown's 'Conflict?'
TV Newser ^ | March 4, 2010 | Kevin Allocca

Posted on 03/04/2010 1:59:51 PM PST by Beaten Valve

With Campbell Brown's husband, Dan Senor, considering a political campaign for Senate against Kirsten Gillibrand, The NY Post's Michael Starr writes today, "[CNN] will have to decide if Brown can keep hosting her 8 p.m. nightly news show -- or if she would be compromised by the conflict."

A CNN spokesperson told Starr they wouldn't comment on "hypothetical situations," but Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren did, defending Brown in a blog post today:

There are all sorts of rumors out there that CNN's Campbell Brown's husband may run for the Senate and the question has been raised whether she can continue to do her anchoring job at CNN. The answer is YES. Of course she can still do her job. (h/t J$P) Van Susteren also added, "Women, believe it or not, don't take marching orders from spouses (neither do men!) You don't get to where Campbell Brown is by not having your own thoughts and your own will."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Dan Senor work in the Bush Administration?

Isn’t Scott Brown’s wife a news reader?

Scott Brown’s wife was a local anchor and they were able to avoid a conflict of interest.

However, Campbell Brown’s employer is a subsidiary of the Obama White House and Democrat Congress - although reaching only a few hundred constituents - it might still present a conflict.

No, Scott Brown’s wife is a reporter. And she does not do editorial commentary on air.

Campbell Brown is married to a republican? Is he a RINO?

This conflict is nothing compared to the national scandal of scores of congressmen and Senators with spouses who directly benefit from votes by their partners. Many even have lobbyists who literally sleep with them at night.

Campbell Brown could not be less objective if she tried.

Who is she? What is CNN? Is it a tv station? Does the “C” stand for cartoons? If I had little kids this might be clearer.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Dan Senor work in the Bush Administration?”

Press secretary, and a pretty good one.

I have never been able to fathom how a ultra conservative person could marry and ultra liberal person and make it work. Mary Matalin and the troll are the first couple that comes to mind.

I’ve been married for 24 years and we’ve been on the brink a few times both BEING staunch conservatives. There are enough forces pulling a couple apart as it is without interjecting such a volatile discrepancy as divergent politics.

Had my wife and I had to also deal with opposite views on politics, I dare say we would not only be divorced, one of us would be dead.

Can someone please answer how this is possible?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that it’s just a game for Matalin.

Dan was the best along with Ari and of course, Tony Snow. We like Dan a lot. He is bright, sharp totally articulate. Don’t care for Campbell at all but Dan? He’s the man!

I really don't see the problem. Nobody seemed to wonder if she could remain as the Overstock.com girl when he was an Easter Island statue.

Somewhat off track but here’s an interesting question:
Campbell Brown is Catholic, Dan Senor is Jewish. Is this a valid Catholic Marriage?

Senor is a total establishment Country Club Republican.

Since when do low level political hacks like Senor qualified to run for Senate?

He was the Spokesperson for the Iraq Provisional Authority in the Bush years.....

BFD.

He has no shot, he will be well heeled from his Country club RINO buddies though. As far as Campbell Brown goes...this will be a situation where Establishment Leftist in the DNC will lobby against Brown...

...as if she is objective or conservative...She despises conservatives, especially social conservatives and is a consistent mocker of Palin.

I hope he wastes alot of money on the race...freakin RINO.
