What can YOU do to truly help transform the heart of this nation?
BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER!
Pray for God’s help in ending abortion, and in establishing a culture that supports life in America.
40 Days for Life consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion,
40 days of constant, peaceful vigil outside abortion centers and Planned Parenthood offices
and 40 days of active pro-life community outreach.

"They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters... and the land was polluted with blood. Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and He abhorred his heritage; he gave them into the hands of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power. (See Psalm 106:37-43)

Your community may be participating in this prayerful vigil.
If so, please join others in your area
or unite with thousands across America
in these 40 days during Lent
as we pray for an end to abortion in this nation.

DAY 16 INTENTION

May the mystery of the Incarnation increase our zeal for defending life.

SCRIPTURE

Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."

-- Luke 1:30-33

REFLECTION - by Randolph Sly, National Prolife Religious Council

"God has assumed Humanity, joining it with Divinity, and kindled in men's hearts new love of me." These words were written by a Roman poet in the Fourth Century. He spent his life finding ways to express the greatest mystery of the world: the incarnation, in which God became man.

Often the womb has been referred to as the "first home of the whole human race." It is the place where life begins, where our stories start. In the womb the great men and women of history began their magnificent march through life. In the womb Divinity met humanity, and God the Son was born into the world. As one of the Fathers of the early church, St. Leo the Great, declared, "Within her spotless womb Wisdom built itself a house and the Word became flesh."

Recently, I was at the hospital for the birth of my fourth grandchild. Looking through the nursery window at the rows of newly born babies, I began to think of the great stories that would be written about these tiny lives. During his visitation with the Virgin Mary, the angel prophesied to Mary about the life of her child. Here in this hospital, I pondered, what would he say about each of these? Would they meet the one who also came from His mother's womb to redeem the world and kindle our hearts afresh for God? I thanked God for each baby alive and prayed for each story yet to be written.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, you have made the womb of each woman a very special place. Help us to hold fast to the sanctity of this first home of humanity, remembering the wonderful mystery, that God inhabited the womb of a young woman and came forth as the savior and deliverer of the world. We ask this in the Name of the one who came forth, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.Amen.

“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
(Proverbs 31: 8-9)

Holy God,

We know that the word choice is popular, but also very misleading. In this abortion debate, the only choice that honors You is the choice for life-—for preserving it, for promoting it, and for valuing it. Help us to respond as You would respond, and keep us focused on the goal: to choose life, and to choose it abundantly, that Your Holy Name may be honored. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

One thing to slam home to anyone you know who’s for Obamacare.

This bill funds abortion. Obama wants this done by EASTER. The whole bill whether it passes or not revolves around abortion.

The senate bill that passed around Christmas, that funds abortion, that appeared to be dead, Obama wants resurrected and passed by Easter. IF YOU WANT IRONY THERE IT IS FOR YOU.

USE IT and get those you know who think it’s a good idea to try to defend it against THAT.

Great point. Tremendous irony. The bill needs to die and NEVER be resurrected-—so babies can live. Thanks for the post.

The Sixth Commandment ~

You shall not murder.

O God, how casually we murder innocent life ... how passionately we defend the smallest insect. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who makes intercession before the Throne of Grace, for only You can bring to the Father the deep anguish and grief we feel over our sin. Have mercy, O Lord, have mercy, and save us for Jesus' sake. Amen ...

. . .how passionately we defend the smallest insect.

Indeed. The devil has blinded many in our nation. Until we develop a culture that respects human life and God as Creator, all else is lost.
