Chief Justice Roberts Not Stepping Down Despite Report
FoxNews | 3/4/10

Posted on 03/04/2010 11:56:48 AM PST by Ol' Sparky

Chief Justice John Roberts is not stepping down from the Supreme Court, despite a celebrity gossip report, a source very close to Roberts told Fox News.

RadarOnline.com reported Thursday that Roberts, 55, would be resigning for personal reasons.

But the source said the report is "completely untrue." There is "no medical issue, no issue at all," the source said, adding that there is not even a 1 percent chance that Roberts is considering resignation.

Seriously, the Constitution states that they shall “hold their Offices during good Behavior.” What that means is subject to interpretation, but in a case about 15 or 20 years ago, there was an impeachment process of a Federal Judge, I believe from Utah. The process and findings used were essentially the same as an impeachment, even though the Constitution calls for Impeachment for “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Where is the source reference for this?

If true, then the reference on the sidebar is false and you will do well to alert the moderator on this.

Roberts KNOWS what would happen to this nation if he were to resign. As an actual AMERICAN, I can’t imagine he would do it. This is just a “signal” from a Chicago style thug.

You may be referring to the impeachment of Alcee Hastings -- a federal judge in Florida (and a Carter appointee).

In 1989, he was impeached by the House and tried by the Senate for "corruption and perjury". He was found guilty and removed from the bench. Note that the Democrats controlled both houses.

Subsequently, he won a seat in Congress (as a Democrat, of course) -- and squats there still.

I’d be more worried that some leftie group “has something” on him and this is the way it leaks out first. They advise him to resign for personal reasons - he refuses - scandal ensues.

If you think about it, the only thing standing between us a statism IS Roberts. We are one heartbeat away from disaster.

Puh-LEESE!
That affects my stomach in the same way a Helen Thomas picture does.

Shouldn’t there be some kind of warning?

Gee what a surprise. An obscure netsite citing an unnamed source makes a false statement. Of course many freepers buy it immediately simply because its bad news and go into despondomania, as usual.

Dumbo and his crew need to be careful who they go after. They might want to check with Zelaya and ask him who the country backed.
