Chief Justice John Roberts is not stepping down from the Supreme Court, despite a celebrity gossip report, a source very close to Roberts told Fox News.
RadarOnline.com reported Thursday that Roberts, 55, would be resigning for personal reasons.
But the source said the report is "completely untrue." There is "no medical issue, no issue at all," the source said, adding that there is not even a 1 percent chance that Roberts is considering resignation.
“I smell Hillary.”

Ha. I don’t want to think it, but the red flags start flying up when they protest too much. After all, Bill Clinton did not have sex with that woman - not a single time - never. (Not that I’m comparing Roberts to old Billy-Jeff. Just the first example to come to mind.)

In the Chicago way of doing things, THAT IS the message. You are only there as long as YOU (or the things you love) are ALIVE. You can either play ball for the rest of your “lifetime” appointment OR you or your loved ones will pay a price for not playing ball.

This is probably an attack by Obama. It is known that he wants to expand the court to 12 justices (so he can pack it, a la FDR’s failed attempt). I think he wants to weaken the court as it is now and try to find some pretext to make it sound necessary to add justices.
So another anonymous source, but nothing from Roberts himself.

I hate to sound unprincipled or use a double standard, but even if all those things turned out to true about Roberts, I’d still want him to remain on the court until Jan 2013. :)

Interesting to discuss this hypothetically now we know that Chief Justice Roberts is NOT stepping down.
I’ll tell you what...All the conservative-minded judges better be on guard with this administration...Watch where they go, what they eat...I would not put it past this crooked bunch in Washington to try to help the judges “retire”....
