Rank-and-file Democrats in Congress remain wary of health care legislation in spite of President Barack Obama's closing argument for overhauling the system, well aware that success is far from assured and political perils abound.

"I think he has succeeded in prying open a window of opportunity, but it's a very narrow window," said first-term Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va. "And he and the leadership here had better clamber through that narrow window while they can."

Looks like though all lemmings are 'RATS' not all 'RATS' are lemmings.

While we are doing Washington Critters, it deeply frightens me that we may have to rely on RATS to stop the Lyin’ Africana.

Prying open a window - sounds more like a break-in by a bunch of thieves.

Good ideas are usually welcomed through the front door.

What do you do if you are a Dem in the House? If you vote against it, you lose your left. If you vote for it, you lose your center. I’d bet they are looking at the makeup of very vulnerable district and will precisely target the voting.

Any Dem who votes for this in a district that is made up of more than 50% Republicans + Independents will not be re-elected.

I might lower that to 40-45% R+I due to the energy I think will drive the votes for freedom in the fall - even with what I’m sure will be a fraudfest where the Dems can arrange that.

They should be wary. There will be no changes to the bill.

Once they approve the Senate version, an effort will be made to get a bill which can be approved via reconciliation; that will fail, and the President “with no other option for the American People” will sign the Senate/House approved bill.

All this noise about Reconciliation is a smoke screen. The Senate bill, if approved by the House, will be signed by the President.

I actually think that many dems are against this farce, albeit for different reasons. It’s truly a lose lose situation. That scares me even more, because there is little reason for a dem congressman to vote it down.

The last time some “thug” “pried” one of my windows to take an “opportunity”, they were met with a Remington 870 loaded with 00 buckshot till the sheriff showed up. Poor choice of words but really, a rat is a rat. Whadda ya expect?

had better clamber through that narrow window...

That window was broken with a crow bar, and large shards remain in the glazing. Expect deep glass gouges on the way in. Expect a hard Booted kick and then some on the way out.

This sudden "closing argument" by the kenyan is his adolescent way of striking back at the ridicule he took from the lame summit he, himself, called.

From his lame arguments, to getting caught picking his nose on camera, he was the laughing stock.

Laughter and ridicule is kryptonite for the superlibs.

Some like Speaker Pelosi only have a left so their votes are easy. It's the Blue Dogs and dems from relatively conservative districts that are in a bind. Because many of the more conservative dems were defeated in 1994 in the Hillary Care backlash the liberal dems that stayed are now the senior members and thus run the place. These leaders, especially in the house, can use thier committee positions to put extreme pressure on the junior reps to follow the liberal line. Some of what is going on is the punishment of republican voting districts and reward of dem voting districts, like canceling a contract for military vehicles made in Sealy Texas and giving it to union labor up in Wisconsin. NASA in Houston is in a very conservative district, good bye NASA. Not only health care but the entire political environment is at stake on this reconciliation threat. If they can get a 51 majority on this in the Senate then everything else can be passed by 51 votes. If so, we'll be living like England in a few years and Greece soon after.

The big majority of the people are opposed to this health care bill because they know it will do more harm than good.I don’t know if it will do any good.

Does BO still have line item veto? If so the Democrats that are voting thinking their stuff will be added as a favor will lose those items to BO’s pen.

I've been thinking this very same thing ever since It was explained how and what they were going to "reconcile".

I don't understand why no one is reporting on the fact that as soon as the House passes the Senate version, it's done. A final bill can then be sent up to Obambi for his "X".

Harry Reid will annouce his victory, and the House Dems (Dums) will hollar "what about your promise?!?" There is nothing binding that forces Harry to do anything after the bill is passed. If the House Dems are really dumb enough to fall for this, then they deserver to be voted out on that alone.

The line-item veto was struck down by the Supream Court as being unconstitutional.
