$7 per Gallon Gas If Democrat Climate Change Goals Are Enacted
Moonbattery ^ | March 3, 2010 | Gregory of Yardale

Posted on 03/03/2010 3:29:23 PM PST by Pinkbell

Researchers at Harvard have determined that the best way to meet Greenhouse Gas Emissions would be to raise the price of gasoline to $7 a gallon.

To meet the Obama administration's targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions, some researchers say, Americans may have to experience a sobering reality: gas at $7 a gallon.

Read the comments and see how many Progressive Leftists applaud the idea because it would force greedy right-wingers to "give up their SUVs." It never occurs to these numb-nuts that everything we eat, wear, and otherwise consume is transported by hydrocarbon powered vehicles. Also, remember what happened to the economy when fuel hit $4 a gallon? Good, now double it.

And of course those people live in the NE where rapid transit is the norm to get around - in the heartland and elsewhere not so good ... that squealing sound you hear is the US economy braking to a halt .. just like the Muslim-In-Chief wants ...

that statement is as ill informed as the lefties thinking we don't need SUV's

You need to rephrase to "those people living in the big cities - (which also include Chicago, Houston, Dallas, LA, San Francisco,....etc - and where the majority of libs live (they are herd animals)

Most of NE is rural and has no 'rapid transit' -

Can you say, “Democrat bloodbath? I thought you could.

This would be fantastic and would set the Democrats back a couple of decades in power. Liberals are hipocrates and even the most flaming of liberals would vote them out when this cost started hitting them in the pocketbook.

When people choose between getting to work and paying their mortgage, guess what happens?

The same thing as happened in 2008. That's how Soros pulled the trigger on this economy.

Awakening...

Yale Poll:  "...the number of Americans who believed that climate change was a hoax or scientific conspiracy had more than doubled since 2008..."

Pew Poll:  "Dealing with global warming ranks at the bottom of the public’s list of priorities; just 28% consider this a top priority, the lowest measure for any issue tested in the survey."

Pew Poll: global warming dead last, down from last year

25 Jan 2010

It seems that the public just doesn’t share the worry some of the activists have.

From the Pew Research Center

Global Warming and the Environment

Dealing with global warming ranks at the bottom of the public’s list of priorities; just 28% consider this a top priority, the lowest measure for any issue tested in the survey.

Since 2007, when the item was first included on the priorities list, dealing with global warming has consistently ranked at or near the bottom. Even so, the percentage that now says addressing global warming should be a top priority has fallen 10 points from 2007, when 38% considered it a top priority.

Yeah, force us evil conservatives to give up gas guzzeling SUVs.
Well, there goes all those employed in making those evil beasts of the road. I guess all thoise UAW workers can always get jobs making windmills.
And punish those companies who have to use trucks. Of course those companies will have to make up the money somewhere and that somewhere is getting rid of people.
Food and good prices will skyrocket, but those rich lefties dont care.

What I’m saying is those people were in Boston. Massive transit system there as well and NYC and those areas. The cities have the mass transit, the countryside does not ....

I wonder how they’re going to control water vapor - the single most important “greenhouse gas”?

That phrase is from Rush’s show where he was talking with a guy from the NE - people in NYC, Boston, etc don’t have to worry about high gas prices since they’d be using mass transit .... of course the countryside has NO mass transit to depend on ... it’s those idiots at Harvard who use MT to get around came up with that ... a woman called from the mid-west said the same thing I said ....

Democrats don’t drive SUVs?

I think they’re about to find out the limits to their overreach.

That said, gas prices are going nowhere but UP anyway, even without such legislation. But that’s another issue.

Well, the one thing that wakes the sheep up are stamp increases and gas prices.

If ANYTHING will wake up the mind numbed cattle it would be $7.00 a gallon gas.

People are griping about their power bills, but hardly anyone gets mad at the right issue....global warming police.

Someone with charisma can right to the white house if they can get the point across to the sheep that your gas prices, power bill, food bill are all sky high because of a fraud. In reality the economy is in the toilet partly because of environmental policy.

I don’t know if I’ve heard anyone that can pull it off. Palin has the best message delivery, and is probably the only one of the main potentials who MIGHT be able to do it. Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty can’t pull that trick off...who else is there?

Same here in Seattle. They’ve built a couple of mass transit trains and they have so few riders. One is named (aptly) The S.L.U.T (South Lake Union Transit) - then they built this thing to go to the airport. Well all the parking for it is too small, the train really doesn’t go all the way (I think about a mile short) ....

I think too that most of them will be voted out of office before anything like that comes to a vote ... as for Dem’s driving SUV’s I think they’re chauffeured to where they want to go ...

I can't find how they arrived at this conclusion. Not that I really thought that I would. the LSM lets alot of things go by without question when its from another liberal.
What other "ways" were looked into?
What were their conclusions on the "other ways" looked into (if any . . .)?
Why $7? Why not $4, or $9, or $6.79?

These are questions that a true press would be asking. Sadly, the U.S. media is not a true, professional "press".
