"We think it's going to be a great story to transport these cultural icons to the modern day."

That probably is to say, Beyonce as Maryann, Kirstie Alley as the Skipper, and Josh Duhamel as the Professor. Maybe Christina Hendricks as the movie star.

And this time somebody gets pregnant.

Christina Hendricks is actually a pretty fine idea for Ginger. I have no intention of seeing this, however. Enough with the remakes.

Brady Bunch, Flintstones, Honey Mooners, Bewitched, Leave it to Beaver, Miami Vice, Beverly Hillbillies, Dragnet, Car 54 Where Are You, Dukes of Hazard, George of the Jungle, Mr. Magoo, He-Man, Inspector Gadget, Lost in Space, Mchales Navy, Mission Impossible, Mod Squad, Starsky and Hutch, My Favorite Martian, Popeye, Wild West and many others. Almost no tv show makes a good movie.

How about Barack Obama as the bumbling Gilligan, Bill Clinton as The Skipper, George Soros or Elliot Spitzer as The Millionaire, Bill Ayers as The Professor, Bernardine Dohrn as Mary Ann, Sean Penn as The Movie Star.

Headline should read, “Hollywood Still Out Of New Ideas”.

All the junkies in Hollywood cannot come up with anything new because their minds have been altered by drugs. However, none of them will ever admit this. They are like Alcoholics that are in denial. So sad...

It will probably be an MTV themed reality show where you never know from one day to the next who is waking up with who.

They should make movies from “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” or “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”. Oh, wait...

A movie version will be “racially balanced.”

Here's hoping Dawn Wells makes a cameo. ummmmm...Dawn Wells....

A long time ago it was rumored she autographed and sold things on Ebay...including some...undergarments. I've searched and searched but so far...nada...sigh.

one wonders why reasonably intelligent people will commit money for this fiasco. you simply cannot remake GI. they’ll try to put some deeper meaning into it, and ruin it totally.

the only TV show that made good movies was the Babyloon 5 series, and those were only made for TV, adn not big screen.

I could see the following:

Jim Carrey as Gilligan

Jim Belushi as The Skipper

Kelsey Grammer as Thurston Howell III

Wendie Malick (Nina from "Just Shoot Me") as Lovey Howell

With Sherwood Schwartz on board the show will be funny and maintain a decent course. He narrates the creation of Gilligan’s Island on the DVD set for first series and shows the pilot episode. The original series nearly never made it to TV because the Hollywood execs were not believers. IMO Gilligan’s Island may be the best TV series ever. Still good for a ton of laughs.
