The Institute of Physics, which represents 36,000 physicists across Britain and the world, has told a Commons inquiry into Climategate that the controversial emails at the centre of the storm represent "prima facie evidence of determined and co-ordinated refusals to comply with honourable scientific traditions".
In short, the IoP has called into question the integrity of the entire field of climate change.
The Commons science and technology committee is interviewing key climate scientists and global warming sceptics. The standard of the interrogation on the first day was tame and the protagonists merely restated their arguments.
The star witness, Professor Phil Jones - the CRU's head and the sender of most of the hacked emails - was let off particularly lightly, his most damning admission probably being: "I have obviously written some really awful emails."
Far more interesting are the written submissions to the inquiry, including that from the Institute of Physics.
Although it has been made abundantly clear that the inquiry is not about whether global warming is actually happening, the IoP criticises one of the fundamental slices of evidence behind the assertion that we are currently experiencing a period of unprecedented global warming.

Anthropogenic global warming is a collectivist fraud. The sooner we get back to the real debate, is it happening or not, the sooner real science can clear its name. Once the global warming scam is put to rest, there should be a serious discussion about the destructive objectives of liberal science.
Most of us reasonable people knew this in 1975. I believe however the first mention of death by global warming and human causing it dates back to a San Francisco paper around 1670’s.
I'd be surprised if San Francisco had a printing press in the 1670s.

This scam was planted by someone with tons of money buying scientists and their integrity . Scientists would have received a piss-pot full of money to carry out their ministrations.Whoever it was, waas rich enough to buy Al Gore hook,line, and sinker, or else Al Gore was used because he was an idiot.
That 'someone' is called the Government (US, UK, German -- pick a country) where most science funding now comes from.
Researchers will always attempt to keep the funding flowing, and with government funding, they can only do that by providing the results that the government desires. A "Global Crisis" (pick any crisis)with the blessing of corrupted government funded scientists, gives governments the justification to tax, spend and assume greater powers than they could otherwise. Global Warming, or now 'Climate Change' is the perfect excuse for every level of bureaucracy to cry for more funding and politicians to call for more taxes and control.
President Eisenhower warned about this very thing back in his 1961 farewell address.
