Downing Street has dismissed an American offer of help in resolving Britain's dispute with Argentina over the Falkland Islands.
"We don't think that's necessary," the Prime Minister's spokesman said after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton indicated Washington's readiness to step in if required
"We welcome the support of the Secretary of State in terms of ensuring that we continue to keep diplomatic channels open but there is no need for that (direct involvement).".

The list, ping
they already have their DVD collection...don’t need any more
Brits tell Hill, “Thank you but no.”
Unless you are Communist, or a terrorist, that is.
If only Isreal could tell Obama to ‘Sod Off’.
Hillary couldn’t negotiate her way out of a phone booth.
More likely, she’d just tell the Argies to come and take the islands.
Now if this was Kenya being threatened by Ethiopia I’m sure we’d have the 5th fleet threatening Ethiopia and there’d be threats to bomb their coffee plantations. So nice to see us stick by an ally.
Gordon Brown all but campaigned for Barack Obama. You’ll excuse me if I don’t feel sorry for the Brits. They got what they wanted, now let them feel the consequences.
Nicely played. Now what will the bammybrillants do? Funny how bammy has helped the Isreali and British image among normal Americans. Keep it up bammy.
Butt out, Cankles.
Translattion: She’s poison....stay away.
I don’t think Barry and Hill could have screwed up American-British relations any more if they were trying. Of course, who’s to say they aren’t?
I actually enjoy how elegant the response, in direct contrast to the blatant disrespect the Øbozo administration has shown the Brits.
They have waay more tolerance than I!
Actually, I would read this as a polite and diplomatic way of saying, “Stuff it.”
But unlike Barry and Hill, the Brits like to use proper language for a diplomatic occasion.
Not sure what “Sod Off” means and you fail to have an about page so we can’t figure where that comes from but I know what I’d say were I the U.K. and “Sod Off” is far too kind.
Sod off is the nice British slang way to say “FCK OFF”.
But like I said, nicer.
And British (or Aussie, as my ex-gf used to say).
I guess that they would take a chance, and a possible failure, on their own rather than putting ANY trust in mac daddies band of clowns and morons and his promise to help which everyone knows would just another lie .
