Progressives, so smart yet so exceedingly foolish...
A tumultuous fight? They have no idea how true that statement is. If Obama attempts to do something like this, he’s done and the liberal Congress is done. Conservative America will march on Washington with arms in hand and remove them from office. It won’t be pretty and it won’t be peaceful.
When faced with defeat, do what all good democrats do: change the rules.
I can see it now. The Constitution gets tossed out the window, and judges are put on the bench that will further the liberal agenda.
The thing liberals forget is they won’t be in power forever. At some point, conservatives will be back in power. Then, they’ll toss a colossal tantrum when they realize we could then control the numbers and stack the court in our favor.

This is probably, as you point out, a threat to get the Court to approve some plan being hatched by Bambi and the left.
However, I think it would result in a serious “push back,” shall we say, not only from persons on the Court and probably many legislators, but from the citizens. This is a blatant attempt by the executive to devour the third branch of government.
Who says, and why would they relinquish power willingly?
0bama wouldn’t do that, because it will NOT be an ‘unprecedented’ and ‘historical’ action since FDR has done it.
And the next guy increases it to get ‘what he wants’, and then the next guy and so on.
Eventually, we will end up with 452 Supreme Court Justices and be no better off than now.
Sheesh. What craziness these people come up with to get their way.
My husband swears this is the product of a ‘give the child what they want to make them emotionally healthy’... ok, that’s my words. He actually says “Damned spoiled brats” and equates the Dems (Obama-Reid-Pelosi in particular with this reconciliation garbage) running the country like a bunch of a-holes on the playground who sees you winning you and changes the rules to their advantage.

I’m sure Obama’s appointments to the court would be carefully vetted from the same bunch of traitors, Marxists, Maoists, muslim terrorists, scammers, tax cheats, perverts, pedophiles, sexual weirdos, felons, racists and incompetent tokens that he tapped to populate his cabinet and buraucracies.

This guy is a liberal, so he’s planting the suggestion in the hopes that Obama will use it.
Exactly what FDR tried to do when he thought he could pack the Court. First he demonized the Court in his inaugural speech and then he sought to add members, PROGRESSIVE members.
Expand the Court - the same plan will be pursued to keep a hold on power by expanding the voter ranks with the additions of the illegal alien voting block (making them citizens).
This plan is reminiscent of how the Liberal Traitors think so get ready when they make this run late his term to “save” his Presidency.

Written as a comment, by myself: “You, sir, are an unrepentant fascist. You know full well that the American people do not want their health care destroyed with this bill, and you know full well it’s unconstitutional, so you wish to change the rules midstream. There is a special place in hell for people like you, and I will be delighted when we take back our country from Marxist / socialist vermin like yourself.”
Not content to raise the ire of the American people by jamming a bad "health care" bill down our throats the dems want to monkey with the Supreme Court to promote their extremist policies? And exactly how do they think the American people will view that?! Lunacy reigns in the Obama admin.
