Five soldiers were detained before Christmas of last year after allegations surfaced of "potential verbal threats against fellow soldiers," according to Fort Jackson Deputy Public Affairs Officer Patrick Jones.
Jones said on Thursday that one of those soldiers is still under investigation, though "there is still no credible evidence to substantiate the allegations," Jones cautioned.
The exact nature of the supposed threat is unclear, and it's also not known who actually made the allegations against the five soldiers.
Fort Jackson officials stressed that no soldiers were actually poisoned, and said no one at the post was ever in danger.
The Army investigation is being handled by Criminal Investigative Division, which has not disclosed where the soldier is, nor if he remains in detention.
