I disagree. Patches was vulnerable solely because he was the candidate, but in MA-10 it is the district itself that put Delahunt in trouble. Sure, the Amy Bishop thing would hurt Delahunt but not his RAT replacement, but whoever runs for the RATs will face an electorate hostile towards the Democrats (the MA-10 gave Scott Brown what, 60%?) while not being able to benefit from districtwide name ID,years of goodwill, access to donors, and all of the other benefits of incumbency.

In conclusin, I think that our odds of winning went up, not down, with Delahunt’s resignation.

I think you’re right.

The chances in the RI seat may be diminished a bit but not MA-10.

So far the CT Senate race is the only real kick in the pills as far as candidate switching goes. And NY Governor of course.
