Guess what? Hawaii has really little to do with his eligibility. Unless he lied about who is father was, he is POTUS-ineligible as the son of a foreign citizen.
Obama himself has never claimed to be a Natural Born Citizen, as required by Article II. All he claims is Native Born Citizenship, and you know what ... that could be true.
He is spending his time and money to focus everyone on Hawaii, and conflating the word Natural with the word Native.
It is working for him, so far. However, lawyers Apuzzo, and Donofrio, have been the only ones to effectively penetrate the charade. No help from elected Republicans at all.
One of the main issue, IMO, is whether the parents are married or not. I don’t know about American law, but in many countries a child born of unmarried parents is more likely to follow the mother’s citizenship.
It may not be the BC that has the problems per se.
Let’s play pretend for a minute(as apposed to starting a rumor). We know there are things Barry is hiding, and we know they are serious enough that he has hired defense attorneys and is willing to pay those defense attorneys more than a million dollars to prevent the electorate from finding out what he is hiding. We know it is more than bad grades or following the wrong crowd. It must be something as serious as identity theft or fraud if not his natural born status.
Let’s pretend it is a combination of both. Barry is not Barak Heussin Obama (legally) and he represented himself as a foreigner (barry Soetero) to gain scholarships and money from the government.
Let’s pretend that his Mother was single at the time Barry was born in Haiwaii and he was named Barry Dunham. His Mother then married an Indonesian and Barry was adopted in Indonesia by his Step Father and became Barry Soetero and his mother became an Indonesian citizen at the same time.
We know that he went by Barry Soetero in Indonesia and we know that the government did not allow duel citizenship, forcing his mother to give up her citizenship along with little Barry’s. She may has gone so far as having his BC sealed which would strike out the Haiwaii birth and register that he was born in Indonesia.
Little Barry and his mother came back from Indonesia to Haiwaii. Did little Barry go on using his Indonesian passport and was he given special scholarships to grade school and college based on being Indonesian?
Did he change his name legally to Barak Obama after being Barry Soetero and Barry Dunham?
Did he legally gain his citizenship back after he returned to Haiwaii?
What does an adoption do for/to the “natural born” citizenship?
Is he hiding the fact that he represented himself as a foreign student of several years?
Could a natural born citizen who was adopted by a foreigner and lived in the foreign country re-gain his natural born status without another adoption or a court proceeding of some kind?
Can a natural born citizen use a foreign passport as identification and use that identification to obtain scholarships, avoid income tax, and registering for the draft and still be considered natural born?
If his birth certificate was never issued to one Barak Obama and he has no legal court documents changing his name could he legally run for president using that name?
