If you read the fine print in the Congressional plans, you'll find that a lot of cherished aspects of the current system would disappear.
NEW YORK (Fortune) -- In promoting his health-care agenda, President Obama has repeatedly reassured Americans that they can keep their existing health plans -- and that the benefits and access they prize will be enhanced through reform.
A close reading of the two main bills, one backed by Democrats in the House and the other issued by Sen. Edward Kennedy's Health committee, contradict the President's assurances. To be sure, it isn't easy to comb through their 2,000 pages of tortured legal language. But page by page, the bills reveal a web of restrictions, fines, and mandates that would radically change your health-care coverage.

I googled Obama health plan and almost all the mentions that show up on the front page are negative, both left and right. It's sort of hard to believe, but even the whoring MSM that foisted this incompetant, inexperienced president on us isn't buying the snake oil.
They must be so conflicted. They are spinning so fast they are going schizophrenic.
I worry about the GOP sometimes. (Actually: a lot of the time.)
wow, both CNN and AP reporting this under negative headline banners...did I miss those icicyles on Satan’s chin?
Why are you surprised?
One blip on the internet, while on air cheerleading Obama...
I really think the GOP should say they need some time to go through this and ask to reschedule the summit.

bttt
AP is using the “1 trillion” price tag in their headlines too.
Me thinks the leftwing media is trying to quash it now, knowing this will send Dems out to the pasture for decades.
What the President is putting out there in print is NOT what language is currently voted on by the House and Senate.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED!
Democrats are not planning on changing any language in those bills based on Republican suggestion. The conference committees will not have Republicans at the table.
Obama can put out all of his suggestions but unless in amendments formally introduced and voted upon, the bills under consideration will not change.
That is a very good idea. The more the public sees and hears about this plan they want to jam down our throats, the more they will hate it.
I disagree. CNN is just preparing the sheep for their royal screw job. They have to be told sometime.
Their Editorial Position is still 1000% support for All Things Obama, including Obamacare.
I do too so I think the members of the GOP who believe in the Constitution should start a Constitution Party...not the Tea Party party but something that reflects the goal to protect the Constitution.

Beautiful!
CNN, to the red phone, please. CNN, to the red phone.
If you ONLY worry about them "a lot of the time", you are not paying close enough attention...
I disagree. The amount of work required to make a third party viable is FAR more than the amount of work required to take back over the GOP.
Here’s the 5 Freedoms we’ll lose in Health Care Reform:
1. Freedom to choose what’s in your plan
2. Freedom to be rewarded for healthy living, or pay your real costs
3. Freedom to choose high-deductible coverage
4. Freedom to keep your existing plan
5. Freedom to choose your doctors
O.k. Freepers; this needs to be e-mailed to every e-mail address in the U.S.A. Coming from CNN, they can’t say this is Right-Wing Propaganda.
That story is from July of last year. God only knows how the bill has morphed into something even worse since then.
“One blip on the internet, while on air cheerleading Obama...”
Yup! That’s the way it’s done these days. Give each group what it wants to hear, and never mind what the reality is.
