Agreed. Nukes are a pain in the patoot. Ask any ranking officer that’s had to babysit the damned things, and you certainly can’t use ‘em (though your gotta’ have ‘em).
This may be one of the dumbest ideas I’ve ever heard of. Let’s see, the Norks won’t get rid of theirs. The Chicoms won’t get rid of theirs. The Ruskies won’t get rid of theirs. The Paks won’t get rid of theirs and neither will the Indians. The Saudis are liable to by their own. If/when the Iranians get theirs, God help all of us (I mean that).
So why would we even be considering getting rid of our Nukes, if no one else will? I suppose it looks nice to his fringe Left base, but we’ll never get rid of our Nukes, or our boomers for that matter. It’s all window dressing for his Homies on the Left.
Show trials, trumped up environmental crisis, ridding ourselves of our nuclear deterrent. It makes responsible adults wonder why adolescents are running the government, but it’s our own fault. Late ‘10 and ‘12 can’t come too soon. Hope we’re still around to have an election!
