In no way would a conservative third-party candidate have even the remotest chance of winning. Hughes lost badly in the primary. Yes, Kirk is a turd for having voted for cap and tax, but he’s strong on immigration issues. Launching a third-party effort there when the GOP has a chance of landing that seat automatically hands it to the dem, who will march 100% to 0bama’s drum. At this point the third-party idea is a stupid one.
Hughes lost because there were too many conservatives running alongside him. Also Kirk ran in the primary like a coward and refused to participate in any debates. Also I don’t believe a real conservative can’t win in Illinois. The problem in Illinois is lack of organization and conviction. Kirk will probably lose to the Democrat simply because he isn’t much different. If I were the Democrat I’d run ads focusing on Kirk’s record as a liberal. There were individuals like Peter Roskam who would’ve made a much better candidate given the current environment. Instead we get two liberals to choose from. That isn’t a choice and we don’t need Kirk in the Senate muddying the waters.

I live in Northern Illinois SO............Show me and tell me why you would make a statement that Kirk is good on Immigration. Back up what you are saying. How did you come to that conclusion?
