He helped McCain get nominated.

The only way that worked, if you analyzed the numbers, was to pull enough from Huckabee to give McCain a chance.

Absolutely. He disrupted the entire Republican nominating process with his BS hemming and hawing about running. What a dip.

There must be something to be said about the political landscape of Arizona for Fred Thompson to endorse McCain. Perhaps Arizona is so liberal that someone like Hayworth would lose big.

When I was in Arizona last, I had this sense that the 60s generation had a hold on the culture there. I saw 60s style VW micro buses complete with psychedelic artwork, a hippy co-op grocery store, shops that reminded me of the liberal Oregon coast and tie-dye shirts for sale. This culture is affecting the youth vote.

Another trend is that Hispanics are registering as democrat voters at a high pace. Hispanics now account for 49% of Phoenix residents and are growing by 2% per year. It is no wonder that McCain has catered his immigration reform ideas toward that voter demographics.

I warned everyone here about Fred Thompson a long time ago, and mainly all it got me was abuse.

LOL Come on!

Fred Thompson not standing by McCain, is like EternalVigilance not backing Alan Keyes. Some folks may not understand it, so be it!

Something is going on here folks. This love fest for McCain is a reason why the Republican party is a joke. They don't care about what the people say either. They just want to use us to get elected. Go here and Donate to JD and send these people a MESSAGE!!! Donate to JD: Link to JD For Senate

Nicely written. There are those who disagree with that interpretation, but I think it is likely.

Sad day this. I hope Duncan Hunter doesn’t openly support McCain.

There was a reason many of us referred to him as McCain-lite during his short presidential run.

He was and is.

“I hope Duncan Hunter doesn’t openly support McCain.”

Me too. I just wrote a post about Duncan Hunter then discarded it. I thought it might be like rubbing salt into a fresh wound.
