Joe the Plumber: I can’t support Palin if she supports McCain
Hot Air ^ | FEBRUARY 15, 2010 | ALLAHPUNDIT

Where does this fit in the great hierarchy of authenticity politics? Sarahcuda may be the most salt-of-the-earth pol on the American landscape but she’s also an internationally famous celebrity and multimillionaire. Surely a blue-collar Joe who’s been known to fix toilets outranks her. Does that mean she’s now been formally excommunicated from the church of “true conservatism” — as I suspected — or did yesterday’s NASCAR appearance imbue her with some sort of impregnable authenticity forcefield?

More importantly, does this mean Meggie Mac was right?

Wurzelbacher touched on several different points during his speech, and many of them were surprising. He said he doesn’t support Sarah Palin anymore. Why? Because she’s backing John McCain’s re-election effort. “John McCain is no public servant,” he told the room, calling the 2008 Republican nominee a career politician.

That’s dumb. In her heart, she’s not supporting him. If Joe can’t see the reality of the situation and the political chess that she has to play, then it’s just take his ball and go home. Immature.

Wonder what his handle is here on FR? I hear this kind of thing all the time. It’s called loyalty, folks. It’s in the dictionary. I had to hold my nose to vote for Senator McCain, and did so only because of Mr. Obama and Governor Palin. In some ways she is a 19th Century frontierswoman, and I mean that in the best way possible.

In February 2010 this is all pure nonsense. Who really cares if Palin endorses McCain. It seems ungratious to me if she doesn't.

Whatever she does in Arizona won't have any affect on McCain's chances.

She doesn't yet have the nod in 2012. If she gets it and runs against Obama, whi is joe the Plumber going to support? Obama?

What political chess? The Dems dumped Joe Lieberman like a bad habit. Palin should reverse the tables and do the same thing to McCain. People can try to spin it, but if she is playing political games, then how is she any different than everybody else in DC?

Sorry Joe, politics ain't black and white. Palin owes McLame. If it weren't for him she wouldn't be on the national stage.

As much disdain as I have for the RHINO, I still am grateful he picked her for his VP.

Sarah’s support for McCain is obligatory and correct. For her to do otherwise would be wrong.

I can't quite agree with Joe, but at the same time, I throw up a little bit in my mouth everytime I think of Palin campaigning for McCain... If I have to see it more than once, I may have to reconsider Palin.

In her heart, she’s not supporting him.

If that's true (& I hope that it is), then she needs to take a principled stand against McCain & support the REAL conservative in the race. Quit supporting a globalist neocon while talking like a person who believes in limited government.

Whatever. I used to think Joe the Plumber was a hero, but now I think he’s a jerk. I’m sure that bothers him as much as his pronouncement bothers me.

It’s this kind of stupid thinking that got us OBAMA. When you have the choice of a RINO and a dem you pick the RINO and stop whining.

How the heck do you know? She's supporting him publicly in front of God and all Americans. There's no spinning around it. If she really does not believe in his politics, she would have said so. She is a RINO supporter. She has chosen personality over principle. Live with it.
