“We sleep safely in our beds thanks to rough men ready to go forth and do violence in the night.” Eric Blair (1984)

“We sleep restlessly on our backs at night thanks to men ready to go forth and do boo-foo in the night.” td 2010

Its just now you will know positivly who they are.

And what's that going to do for unit cohesion or medics coming in contact with blood and other body fluids in a combat situation?

What do you expect? His daughter is gay, so his viewpoint on this issue is suspect.

don't ask don't tell don't matter.Ones sexual preference should not be a issue for military service. We should treat the homo's the same way unless they want more then its a different ballgame.Cheney is a great guy and remember his daughter is lesbian so I find no fault here since I'm one to~~~~

Cheney can go to hell. I once really liked this guy and wished GB was his VP instead of the way it was. He has gone off the deep end now, he’s entrenched himself amongst the Establishment Beltway crowd and social experiments (HOPE & CHANGE?) He has an afflicted daughter, so he has gone over to the dark side. Dick, go—go away.

Well, seems to me this is talk, not of repealing don't-ask-don’t-tell, which would take us back to gays not being allowed to serve, but rather overriding with a new policy. Personally, if you repeal back to gays not serving, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Can gays be patriotic and want to serve? You betcha. So can severe asthmatics, visually impaired, those with food allergies. Sorry. Serving is not a right. It's serious business.

Though not totally surprised all things considered, I am sorely disappointed in Cheney. He should have just chosen a non committal answer if he couldn’t say he thought it should be left in place.

FT Hood shooting showed that. Right after the shooting we had a general saying how he hopes this doesn’t affect diversity in the military

It wasn't just the stupid ass general....

This terrorist did everything but stand at the main gate at Fort Hood Texas, with a big sign saying, "Death to American infidel dogs."

Look up what he told his female commanding officer.

He should have just chosen a non committal answer if he couldn’t say he thought it should be left in place.

During the Beck interview, I noticed that he did not fall for the truther trap, he said up front that he isn't one, so he has that going for him.

He would forgive them if they are sorry, and he would tell them “Go, and sin no more”.

Actually he said that he wouldn’t second guess the military leadership and that if they think it’s possible to do and not harm the mission he is ok with that.

It's nice to see that someone else has paid attention to detail. I'm surprised that more people never picked up on that. Cheney is very careful with his words when discussing anything to do with "gays". It the same thing with his so-called support of same sex marriage. He has never stated outright that same sex relationships should be given marriage status by the government.
