Even though his cable TV news network may not have that many viewers in relative terms to his competitors, MSNBC's David Shuster apparently has some clout when it comes to getting things done in Washington, D.C. - at least on a municipal level.
Shuster, making effort to give his viewers some "perspective" of his personal experience with the reason record-breaking snowfall in Washington, D.C., showed pictures of scenes near his Washington, D.C. home - complete with unplowed snow and a downed tree on MSNBC Feb. 12.
"And to give you some perspective on what it's been like for all of us here in Washington, D.C., on residential streets that don't get plowed," Shuster said. "First up, this is a picture my wife took on Sunday in front of our house looking north of 32nd Street," Shuster explained. "This was after the first storm that dumped about 23 inches and before the second drop of another 12. And here's a photo from the same angle last night, the weight of the second storm caused one of the trees to fall down yesterday morning breaking windows in that apartment building on the right. We have street parking and here's what 35 inches of unplowed snow does to cars."

Meh, the mayor occasionally walks all around town in events like this. My guess is that he happened to run into them and make them feel like me was there only for them. It’s not the mayor’s fault the idiot reporter took him seriously.
We have a huge highway construction project in these parts that is having a delayed opening for 30 days past completion for a “photo op” ribbon cutting ceremony that the politicians couldn’t find an open date that met all their schedules.
Haven’t they heard of a soft opening?
A woman actually married that creep? I guess there really is someone for everyone.
I’m having a Marion Barry time-warp moment.
The DC Mayor was asked why they didn’t dump the snow in the Potomac..
Too salty.. it might hurt the fishies..
So they have a hugh area right next to the river where they are piling snow up..
When it gets warm and the snow melts, where does it go, in the river.
But it'll go in slowly enough not to do any damage. If they dumped it all in at once (which was my first thought too) it would. My second thought, again like yours, was, it's going there anyway. I'm now up to third-thought.
when ya hit afterthought stage, let me know. ;-)
What the heck could one hope to catch that was edible much less alive in the Potomac anyway? 8-]
“The DC Mayor was asked why they didnt dump the snow in the Potomac..

How much salt could be in the snow? Aren’t they just scooping it up with front end loaders? It would be stupid to salt 4 feet high snow...they have to scoop it off before they salt the road.
And when they do salt the road, the melted solution goes into the storm inlet and into the....drum roll...river.
He has a wife??? I wonder what his name is?
