"She has her own set of rules," Sabato said. "We all know that."
Palin will make three appearances in Daytona Beach this weekend. Shell attend the Daytona 500 on Sunday, sit for an afternoon book signing at the Volusia Mall and finish with a speech to the sold-out Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerces annual dinner.
On Tuesday, Palin is booked for a similar event in Little Rock, Ark.
Her March 12 appearance at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando also offers a $1,000-per-person private reception and photo with Palin.
Oliver said up to 3,000 could attend the Orlando event, and $50,000 in tickets have been sold already.

She sure knows how to generate dollars.
Can anyone blame her?
Political ‘Happy Trails’ are busy and expensive trails.
Nothing in the story justifies the headline.
to which Private Citizen Palin is perfectly well entitled.
Freeze out the “enemedia”.
Good call. This will build the support of the base that wants to see the enemedia take it on the chin.
On another note, Eugene Robinson’s latest fishwrap screed ended by calling Palin “elitist”.
That little handle must be causing a bit of fear on the left. They HAVE to know that anti-elitistism is engrained in the American psyche, and they have to know that they are rightly perceived as elitists wanting to control the rest of us.

Democratic party activists, posting as media, was barred.
Why give the enemy ammo?
Palin is way ahead of a lot of other politicians in recognizing the media as the enemy.

the rule was requested by the Washington Speakers Bureau, which arranged the event. The party is paying an undisclosed fee for Palin to speak.
Makes sense. They paid for exclusive access. Done all the time. Just try getting into a democrat function with your camera. Good luck on that.
The former Alaskan governor, ex-vice-presidential candidate and best-selling author has banned all video and sound recordings of her upcoming speeches in Daytona Beach and at the Lincoln Day dinner of the Orange County Republican Committee.
Palin is booked by the Washington Speakers Bureau, a capital outfit that charges $40,000 per event or more for some of its most prominent political stars. The bureau represents former President George W. Bush whose speeches are normally closed to the media as well as retired Gen. Colin Powell, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, ex-NBC anchor Tom Brokaw and many others.I would note that her appearance at the Daytona 500 will be televised. :-)...
[Larry] Sabato said agents often dont want speakers prepared remarks which usually vary just slightly from town to town airing on local media outlets or C-SPAN and possibly killing attendance or bookings down the road.
...
So its not unusual for more prominent speakers, such as former Presidents Bill Clinton and Bush, to request that they be "off the record," he said.
