I would much rather have Louise ready than my cell phone. I named my gun Louise. Mr. johnson named his Burt.

"We're suggesting people be more cautious about when they go out -- and this is not specific to Vallejo, but everywhere," Tenorio said. "Be aware of your surroundings, follow your gut feelings. If your gut feeling says to leave someplace, then leave.

In other words, forget about freedom, stay home behind locked doors. Everyone knows cops are against gun ownership because they fear the gun being used on them. They will violate our rights and put our lives in danger to keep themselves "safe".

If I wanted your advice I would have called and asked for it.

Sounds like they’re asking people to get killed.

Maybe the city could get some stimulus $$$$ to build and run a gun range and provide free instruction?

Fat chance. That would be an act of a government that respected it's citizenry.

HEADLINE: Citizens advise Police against arming themselves.

Great response! Policemen need to know how vulnerable the ordinary citizen feels.

The constitution says they can BEAR arms not keep them in their home.

If I'm not mistaken, the cosntitution says you have a right to keep and bear arms in your home. If you leave your home by horse or buggy, your firearm must be unloaded in plain view or be in a locked strongbox.

They just reafirmed this in D.C. Scotus shot down a ban on gun ownership in the home, but left no provisions for RKBA outside the home.

Vallejo police can take a hike. They aren’t the ones who are running around as unarmed defenseless victims.

It is the bay area. What do you expect from liberal idiots, police or civilian.

“rack the weapon if it’s a semi-auto

Agree with all that except the rack the weapon part.”

I concur as well. I carry my 1911 with a round chambered, and feel very safe doing so once I got some very good training, since which I reinforce it with 10 minutes of dry fire practice each evening, and range time periodically to solidify it further.

Police are becoming a rather pathetic breed. Count on them to fill the local coffers by citing you for silly infractions, but don’t count on them to protect you from the bad guys.

McDonald v. Chicago arguments begin March 2nd.

How long after that we’ll move from the *keep* issue to the *bear* issue, who knows? It should cover them, but I don’t see Da Mare giving in before throwing away as much of our money fighting is as he can.

We urgently need to get the guns off the streets.
The cops must have not guns on patrol.
Unarmed cops set a good morale example, like unilateral disarmament of a nation such as Liberals favor.

The Constitution allows citizens who are not otherwise prohibited from having a gun...

DOUBLE LIAR!

The Constitution doesn't say ANYTHING about ANYONE being "prohibited".

This piggy public swiller of pork should be triply ashamed.

I wonder how he would feel if he was required to check his gun in at the end of his shift?

My niece's husband has to sign his in & out every shift.

Has to fill out a report if he draws his truncheon for any reason.

Has to fill out a ream of paper work if his pistol is drawn.

Sixteen reams if he fires it.

Of course, he's a British “armed response” officer.

Call 9-1-1 in Vallejo and you might get a menu to choose from:
“Please press 1 if you are being robbed, Please press 2 if you are being.......Please press 87 if you are still alive”.

If you are afraid that people don’t know how to handle guns safely, then the police should offer free weekly classes in handling guns safely. Target ranges should be opened and police should have volunteers available to mentor people.

A rifle means you’re going to a fight. A pistol means you got caught in one.
