Barack Obama swept into the Oval Office as a human green screen. Voters projected their own hopes and dreams onto him. He had glamour, observers gushed. But glamour used to mean an actual magic spell, as my former boss Virginia Postrel wrote during the 2008 campaign. She noted fans mystical bond with the mysterious candidate:
Obama is unusual, however. He attracts supporters who not only disagree with his stated positions but assume he does too.

It shows how dumb the American people are when it takes them this long to discover that Obama doesn’t share their values and beliefs. Does any Kenyan?
His supporters still deny he is anticapitalist and prosocialist.
Why is this such a dirty secret?
A majority of Democrats have a favorable view of Socialism (as polled by Gallup last week).
Why obscure the agenda?
The deceit makes him unpopular. The agenda makes him unpopular.
His popularity was based on the celebrity culture, not his ideas.
His wife has always been “anti-glamor.”
I know dozens of people like this. There's just too many idiots in this country.
No one who behaves so crudely in public can be deemed “glamourous”.
There are millions of Christians who “cling to religion” who voted for Obama who “sure hope” he is a Christian as he and his staff have said. To believe he is Christian is to ignore all evidence to the contrary (there is nothing in his history to support his claim).
I would be interested to hear Nobama’s definition of a Christian. I remember reading that he said he believed his mother was in heaven because she was a kind person.
2004 Interview: Obama Talks about Jesus, Heaven and Sin (CBN Posted on Tuesday, October 21, 2008)
GG: Do you believe in heaven?OBAMA: Do I believe in the harps and clouds and wings?
GG: A place spiritually you go to after you die?
OBAMA: What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, that I will be rewarded. I dont presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. But I feel very strongly that whether the reward is in the here and now or in the hereafter, the aligning myself to my faith and my values is a good thing.
When I tuck in my daughters at night and I feel like Ive been a good father to them, and I see in them that I am transferring values that I got from my mother and that theyre kind people and that theyre honest people, and theyre curious people, thats a little piece of heaven.
Obama ... America’s Amanutjob?
wow, that’s creepy. He doesn’t know the Bible at all if that’s really what he believes.
