Clinton fundraiser accused of kidnapping (Sant Chatwal, fundraiser for Bill & Hill)
The Telegraph (U.K.) ^ | February 10, 2010 | Dean Nelson

The hotelier, who is a trustee of the William J Clinton Foundation, is accused by several Indian businessmen of having them abducted by police officers from a hotel launch party and "terrorised" into signing statements that they would pay him more than £800,000.

The allegations emerged amid protests after Mr Chatwal was last month awarded one of India's highest honours, the Padma Bhushan.

While his businesses have suffered several bankruptcies, Mr Chatwal maintains a millionaire lifestyle and in 2006 oversaw one of the most lavish weddings in recent history for his son Vikram Chatwal, an actor who appeared in the Hollywood filmZoolander, and the model Priya Sachdev.

Guests were flown to Mumbai from all over the world and then to Udaipur, where they were hosted by the Maharaja at his palace and entertained by dancing eunuchs. They were then flown to Delhi, where they were joined by Bill Clinton.

Mr Chatwal opened the luxury Dream Hotel last year in Cochin, where three of his alleged victims were suppliers.

In a series of complaints to India's Central Bureau of Investigation and the National Human Rights Commission, they allege they were "pulled from their beds" at the hotel in April last year after attending its launch party as suppliers.

They claim they were bundled into police vehicles and warned by a police chief that unless they paid the money to Mr Chatwal they would be held incommunicado and subjected to treatment that "would be unimaginable and would ruin the lives of all such people".

"We will be doing the biggest fund-raiser for Obama," he said, and added, "Hillary will be there, either at the end of July or beginning of August. We are going under the same banner of Indian American Democratic Committee, which was earlier Indian Americans for Hillary Clinton for President, '08."

"Obama told me, 'Mr Chatwal, my office has been trying to reach you, and I said, 'I was waiting for the order from my boss (Senator Clinton), and now, I got it,' and I said, 'I am going to hold the biggest fundraiser you have ever seen in your life.'"

"Obama replied, 'I believe it, I know, my chair of the Finance Committee says if you want Indian Americans, get a hold of Sant Chatwal'.

"So we are going to do it. We will raise over $10 million for the Obama campaign," Chatwal said

Indeed...the complaints suggest a level of brutal and violent thuggery that Clinton-watchers are long accustomed to hearing about in connection with Bill and Hill.

Similarly, considering the stormtrooper tactics of 0bama's Brownshirts, the SEIU, it seems a natural alliance with Zero as well.

Does Clinton ever do fundraising in the States among actual Americans? Is all his dough foreign . . . apart from the taxpayer-supported salaries he's collected over the course of his entire working life?

I'm sorry but that's my 'take away'. Apologies to Mr. Chatwal and his fellow Indians.

My guess is that it's a whole lot easier to launder money when it has to cross at least one ocean.
