These anti-fishing groups (they are more than just anti-whaling) are nothing short of terrorists. I have no problem of the ships ramming these holier-than-thou eco-whacko ships.
Also, the anti-fishing/anti-whaling groups are outright racist....they are the only ones who can get away with, it seems, going after the livelihood of non-white ethnic groups (Asians, Inuits).
I remember seeing one of the old First Mates who couldn't even read his radar and navigation instruments.
The Sea Shepherds should go after the shrimpers or the snapper boats on the Gulf of Mexico. Some of those guys have guns aboard. In the 60s when we could still fish in Campeche but subject to Mexican harassment, there was a Mexican patrol boat that sank down there and made a short blurb in the papers. The fishermen on the dock were pretty smug about it for some reason. The word was that one 76 footer was very close to the Mexican when it had its misfortune.
