I saw the same thing in Vietnam. I had a mother and child in my sights while they planted a booby trap (Vietnam Era IED). I didn’t pull the trigger, couldn’t have lived with myself.

I had a friend who lost his leg in Nam because he could not bring himself to shoot an eight year old.
I know this sounds brutal, but killing these kids would be a kindness. If terrorists know that using human shields works, they will do it all the time, and civilian casualties will go up.
Better to kill a few kids and at the same time do everything possible to track down and kill the scum forcing or paying these kids to do it. Wether the kids are doing it freely or not, a bullet or bomb from a kid is the same as one from an adult. No point in allowing women or children to get away with killing our troops or friendly civilians.
