Well, that's for right now. Then there's the rest of the time. Or, Congress can doublecross the employees with heavy doses of inflation ~ and not follow that up with pay ajustments for years.

You really don't have options as a federal employee of making cost saving decisions ~ without Congressional approval.

Try running a private business like that.

I think I've already noted that USPS management keeps their cost controls within about 1/10 of 1% of plans. With between 700,000 and 800,000 employees, several hundred thousand vehicles and nearly 30,000 buildings that's kind of remarkable.

Problems arise when the economy tanks and mail volumes drop. But, everybody has comparable problems when the economy tanks.

If you'd like mail delivery curtailed let 'em know. BTW, that's YOUR mail delivery, not just your competitor's.

Mail delivery dates back at least to Rome, through Benjamin Franklin, etc. it’s a legitimate government function, just by tradition,but there’s a lot of barnacles on the ship of state.
