It looks like it just does not pay for a Senator to go on an ill-subscribed diatribe about opponents of the the Democrats' health care reform.

The Providence Journal is reporting that Rhode Island Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's 2012 re-election prospect is looking dour these days. Pollster Joseph Fleming attributes Mr. Whitehouse's vitriolic floor remarks about opponents of health care reform as part of the reason:

Rhode Island - a Deep Blue State. Patrick Kennedy looks in trouble now. I'm advising Democrats to cut their losses while they can!

Reported in The Hill 02.05.10

Sen. Scott Brown's (R-Mass.) election has been shown to be "a joke," the son of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) said Thursday.

Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) castigated Brown for having pushed to be sworn in ahead of schedule to permanently fill the Senate seat left vacant by the congressman's father's death in August.

"Brown's whole candidacy was shown to be a joke today when he was sworn in early in order to cast his first vote as an objection to Obama's appointment to the NLRB," Kennedy said Thursday.

Time for Patrick to look for another line of work.

I agree. He needs a change from his job as a profession rehabilitation resident.

Maybe they can hire him to go count cracks in the sidewalk. That shouldn't be above his paygrade.

I was at a PawSox game in August. Patches was up on the mound with some Special Olympians for some kind of award ceremony. His reception was tepid, at best. I think he wasn’t booed out of consideration for the kids.

On his own Patches probably would never rise to the position of night shift manager of a Cumberland Farms and the good people of Rhode Island and the Providence Plantations are on to him.

sometimes referred to by local radio hosts as “Seldom Right-house” because of his unwavering commitment to bigger government (and his concomitant tacit support for reduced freedom) - but of course he would not be subject to the same healthcare dictatorship he thinks is good enough for the rest of us...
