Kennedys shaken as GOP eyes R.I. too

The Kennedy political dynasty is shaking in the aftershock of U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s earth-shattering election, with a new poll showing U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy losing ground as he faces a well-financed GOP foe backed by Brown’s top strategists.

The WPRI-12 poll showed the Rhode Island Democrat with a 56 percent unfavorability rating in his district - a negative that grows to 62 percent statewide.

Only 35 percent of voters in Kennedy’s district said they would vote to re-elect him. Another 31 percent said they’d consider a different candidate and 28 percent said they would vote to replace him, according to the poll.

Republican John J. Loughlin II, a veteran state lawmaker, formally announced his campaign yesterday against Kennedy, saying the son of liberal icon Edward M. Kennedy is out of touch with Rhode Island voters as he seeks a ninth two-year term

You forgot to capitalize the acronym "lol".

Beginning of a sentence, and all that, you know? Grade school stuff, yeah?

Kennedy’s old man made his money (bigtime) during the time when alcohol was banned (had an underground system)....

He had plenty of cash before Prohabition. Most of it was made on Wall Street when he was manipulating stocks to a degree that would have made Bernie Maddof blush. He got out of the market before the Great Crash of '29 with millions and then invested in oil, Hollywood (RKO Studios), big time real estate and who knows what else. (Yes, booze too)

The old man was a rotten SOB, but he was a savvy investor and the proof of that is a low life like Patches who "Never worked a day in my life" is sitting in Congress" (still not working) living like a damn king from money his Grandfather made 80 years ago. And even a bum like Patches can't out spent his trust fund.

Shows how well the Inheratince Tax works on the Super Rich. That tax only impacts the semi rich.

“I love when the nay-sayers exclaim that only liberals can win outside the South.”

Right, nay-sayers and liberals agree on this part of the myth/lie. It’s perpetrated to discourage. It’s great to give the lie to the lie! Go RI!

“I thought it was the correct plural for ‘Kennedy’.”

Search results (common usage):

Kennedies: 42,300
Kennedys: 8,120,000
Kennedy’s would be possessive form of a singular Kennedy.

Kennedy’s is the possessive case spelling, as in: “Kennedy’s failing was that he was a drunk, a lout, and a commie at heart.”

Excellent use in a sentence...;)

“hope and change” can be really good — it all depends upon what is hoped for and what changes result!

maybe Rhode Island voters are tired of being the armpit of Massachusetts — in a post-Patches era they might at least pretend to have a state of their own....

My husband served as an investigative aide (1976-1979) for one of the Congressmen who served on the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) that investigated the John F. Kennedy assassination. The HSCA invesigation was needed because the lone gunman determination put forward by the report of The President’s Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy (1963-1964, a.k.a. The Warren Commission: Ford, Spector) did not fit the eye witness reports and physical data from the assassination scene, the bullet damage to the limosine, or the positioning of the exit wound in Pres. Kennedy’s skull. In its final report, the HSCA report concluded that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, probably as a result of a conspiracy.

BTW, my great Uncle was on the train trestle overlooking Dealy Plaza that day and he spoke of seeing three tramps get on one of the freight trains moments after shots were fired at the President’s limosine. When he reported this to the police on the scene, he was told to tell no one and go back to his ranch and stay there.

Also BTW, for the role my husband played in the investigation of the President’s assassination, he was shadowed, persecuted, and physically roughed up by government intelligence operatives and then kidnapped, drugged, and admitted to a mental hospital against his will. All because he would not change his opinion of the events that had transpired with regard to the assassination. His father, a retired Vice President for Greyhound Corporation out of Philadelphia, had to call in all of his politica favors to be able to get his son out of that hospital. This happened in Phoenix, AZ in 1979.

Spector and Ford were total sell-outs on the Warren Commission.
