Kennedys shaken as GOP eyes R.I. too

The Kennedy political dynasty is shaking in the aftershock of U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s earth-shattering election, with a new poll showing U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy losing ground as he faces a well-financed GOP foe backed by Brown’s top strategists.

The WPRI-12 poll showed the Rhode Island Democrat with a 56 percent unfavorability rating in his district - a negative that grows to 62 percent statewide.

Only 35 percent of voters in Kennedy’s district said they would vote to re-elect him. Another 31 percent said they’d consider a different candidate and 28 percent said they would vote to replace him, according to the poll.

Republican John J. Loughlin II, a veteran state lawmaker, formally announced his campaign yesterday against Kennedy, saying the son of liberal icon Edward M. Kennedy is out of touch with Rhode Island voters as he seeks a ninth two-year term

So every morning 'fore I went to school
I popped some pills and snorted coke too
Sometimes I felt that I couldn't go on
I wanted to leave this but I was a fool
Yet I always remembered what my daddy said
With booze on his breath on his dyin bed
He said, "Patches, I'm depending on you son
I tried to do my best, It's up to you to do the rest"

He’s{Specter} been a weasel all his life.

He also was the guy who defended that filthy hippie murderer Ira Einhorn. I have no problem with a lawyer defending even the worst defendent, but Specter got Einhorn released pending trial. What a surprise that the POS ran and lived it up in hiding in Europe. Holly Maddox didn't get immediate justice.

True, Joe was a no good bootlegger who married into the political establishment then tried to have it all through his sons. Rotten bastard to the core...had his own daughter lobotomized for no good reason. The say when told about Robert dieing (he has already had his stroke) he just wept then refused food/water and died shortly thereafter. Sad end to a mans life.

For decades they’ve demanded certain treatment because of who they were. They’ve taken advantage of many people they were meant to serve. Their connections were deep and people were afraid to oppose them.

That ended a little when JFK Jr. died. There was no longer an heir apparent. But Ted still lived and his presence still commanded fear. He’s gone and none of the new generation (saving the one who died in the plane crash) are anything like their precessors except in their morals. Arnold’s wife is probably the closest they have to normality in that family.

Without Ted I suspect his family is going to have a far harder time winning or holding office now. Even Democrat’s would like nothing better then to finally push that family aside.

...its Kennedy's not Kennedies.

Aye aye aye.... the plural form of the name Kennedy is Kennedys. Like Fords, Johnsons, or Smiths.

Kennedy's is the possessive case spelling, as in: "Kennedy's failing was that he was a drunk, a lout, and a commie at heart."

Not to trample on a man’s grave or anything

That was not the desecration I had in mind. If you get there after me, you might get some mud on your shoes.

Sorry bout that. ;~))

All of them connected to the JFK assignation were not looking for the truth but how to pin it all on one person and the magic bullet.

OK, I lost the trail of attribution there though.

Maybe I will google it later, but I need to get back to other stuff...

Here ya go:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/06/30/politics/main561032.shtml

The Mouth of the Young Dems: Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I., son of Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and no stranger to controversy, has stepped into the gossip pages again.

The Washington Post reports that Kennedy, while delivering a speech to a group of Young Democrats, was a tad more candid than his staff might have liked.

“I don’t need Bush’s tax cut. I have never worked a [bleeping] day in my life,” Kennedy said shortly after presidential candidate Howard Dean addressed the crowd. One of those present told the Post that Kennedy then “droned on and on, frequently mentioning how much better the [Democratic presidential] candidates would sound the more we drank.” The source added that he eventually “had to be stopped by a DNC volunteer.”

Robert Moses is spinning in his grave.

I would guess he's rotting in Hell and does not care what the bridge is called, but that's just a guess. ;~))

The SOB was no different than the Kennedy's. He had power and he used it to screw anyone who got in his way.

That’s pretty much a given. Hillary will always run and it would wise to NOT vote her. You will get more of the same destruction of America.

...it’s late, and I really did not want to have to explain that....

I hear you. I'm tired, too, but I see the poor apostrophe abused so often that it makes me ill about the general level of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

I remember a time when such errors in spelling were rare - even among those without an expert command of the language.

Folks used to learn the simple basics of where and when to use the apostrophe when they were in grade school.

Nowadays, even college grads can't seem to master it. Even the dang Precedent can't properly pronounce the word corpsman, and he's supposedly "highly" educated!
