The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 31% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove which Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -6
Overall, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.
this sucks.
Actually he is down 2 from yesterday, he was at -4.
Rasmussen is just the messanger here. I think the President’s SOTU address probably did shore up some of his support. I think it will be short lived, but it looks like it was some real movement.
Hyped speech, been trashing Repubs aggressively non stop for almost a week, glorified press how he’s “fighting back,” no surprise. Wait until Friday when 800,000 plus jobs are eliminated and unemployment rockets up, Obama will and should be on the hot seat.
“I think the Presidents SOTU address probably did shore up some of his support.”
With his Dem base only, not with Repubs and, most importantly, not with Indies.
No, yesterday he was at -7 IIRC.
He’ll drop again. His flaky base, who is driving the improvement, will find something else to whine about and his numbers will fall. So, not to worry... he’s not going to see “honeymoon” numbers again.
There's no way this fool is even that popular. Look at what happened here in MA; if it wasn't a vote against Obama’s agenda, I don't know what is.
Noting that nobama is starting to “campaign” against Congress ie his New Hampshire speech yesterday claiming he NOW to wants to be fiscally responsible and also “has listened to America’ to not have KSM’s trial in Nuevo York.
He’s only talking and it won’t be long until he over-talks it, again. When its time for “put up or shut up” the numbers will go back into the high teen negatives. Reminds me of ‘back when’, used to run with a buddy that thought he was such a silver tongue devil he could talk the girls into it but always kept yappin until he talked them right out of it.
I tend to agree. I hear very little positive about Obama or the SOTU speech, other than from committed lefties. I imagine he did get some bump from the SOTU and the GDP growth number, but I can’t see how it was this significant on bringing down his Strongly Disapprove numbers. He has kept a 40% strong disapprove or higher for a long period of time, and I don’t see where 5% of the strongly disapproves changed their minds with recent events.
Back and forth with republicans was the game changer.
The move is mostly in approval from Dems. Their Strongly approve went up 8%.
The “strongly approve” number just dropped another point, from -32 to -31. So the SOTU bounce does appear to have lost considerable territory.
But here’s the really troubling aspect of this morning’s numbers:
The “strongly disapprove” number has fallen a whopping five points (-42 down to -37) from its pre-Sotu level. Therefore it seems last week’s charm offensive by the Big Ø not only revved up his leftwing base, but it also calmed the jitters of those independents and moderates who had temporarily lapsed into a state of Øbambiphobia.
I think this development should be a warning to anybody on the right who would underestimate Big Ø’s formidable powers of persuasion. He’s quite the socerer and Pied Piper — a magician who may even possess another eight political lives!
Ofcourse, his tanking may have been the lunatics that make up his base and now they are happy again. But, I'd like to think moonbats are such a minority as to be a statistical blip. Then again, I might be delsding myself with that wish also.
2010 is going to make 2009 look like good times.
This nation is about to get one of the biggest reality checks in modern history.
I’ve posted this before and i think it still holds true:
The sudden increase of dems who strongly approve is a response to the decision to remove the terrorist trial from NYC.
