Rangel: Dems Aren't Giving Up On Health Care
New York Magazine ^ | 2/2/10

Posted on 02/02/2010 9:28:11 PM PST by nickcarraway

Like a zombie with a gunshot wound to the chest, health care reform keeps lurching forward. News of its latest movement comes from Charlie Rangel, who said tonight that a compromise is currently in the works between congressman hoping to salvaging a bill. The legislation that emerges, Rangel said, would reflect meetings held last month between the House, Senate and White House to resolve issues over things like taxing "Cadillac" insurance plans and funding abortion. The biggest question now is whether Democrats should just shut up about health care for a while and move on to jobs. Rangel seems to think they can do both: "The major things we're talking about now are, one, don't let health care even look like it's not on the front burner. And don't forget that the priority of people in their districts is jobs."

Ah yes, jobs. Those things people want. And something Democrats might actually be able to provide without wasting an entire year and ending up with nothing. It's definitely time to move on guys.

This is what is so cool. They can't let this one go. Libs : "We almost have it. So close, so close. We had a mandate until..... It's slipping away. AHHHHH. " LOL

Recall the beauty of it all: One group you could pity is those Democrats in congress who voted for a bill because they were promised over and over that the ‘final’ health reform bill would fix any problems in either of the two passed bills. They wasted ten months and had to stomach other states getting embarrassing bribes their states didn't, defended secret closed door meetings, unpopular mandates, tea party protests, angry town hall meetings and voters at home; and then after finally passing two bills with passage seeming so close to many, they watched it die in front of their eyes. At: .A week in the eyes of a Demoralized Liberal, to know it is all over

Why do you think they have NOT YET seated Brown?

Why is the now non-senator from Mass. still sitting in Senator Brown's seat - and they won't seat him until Feb 11th...3 1/2 weeks after election. (when they elected dems from Mass. they were seated in 1 and 2 days!

Why aren't our reps screaming and why isn't even FOX covering it?

They WILL pass something - ANYthing - to get it through - of course right now, with Murtha in the hospital where he can't legally vote - they still don't’ have 60...but why is this delay being allowed!!!

and where we WE the PEOPLE - where are the demands.

SEAT BROWN NOW

That’s right. Why slow down or stop their self-created train wreck? Let ‘em keep going on with their folly full steam ahead, so they’ll wake all the voters up. They’ve awakened the beehive of voters like never before. They’re going to get a big sting come November.

This is Democratic "magic trick" -- we are supposed to keep our eyes on DC, while they try pushing universal healthcare through at the State level!

California is already on the chopping block & it's passed in the State Senate. Watch your State!

“Can we get this criminal Rangel out of Congress and into jail where he belongs?”

Not with Holder in charge. You and I would be in jail already.
