Statement from Congressman Peter Roskam after Majority Leader Hoyers stunning admission that moving Guantanamo to Illinois is a mistake and the White House is re-thinking this flawed strategy:
I'm pleased to see that both Leader Hoyer and the White House are recognizing that moving Guantanamo is a mistake and are subsequently reconsidering their flawed plan. The opposition to this controversial move has been widespread, broad based and well reasoned. While they have ignored good reason for months now, this presents Democrats in Illinois and around the country a new opportunity to listen to common sense and oppose this controversial move that wont make us any safer.

Given the way the Obamanation has pursued this deal in secret and in typical Chicago thug fashion, this is stunning news indeed.
Roskam is the real deal. He has quite a future, IMHO.
He had ample opportunity to stop that liberal Combiner abomination Kirk in today’s election, and he chose not to (and worse, he endorsed him). I can’t get excited over these phonies.
FAIL! EPIC FAIL #351 for the Obamanator! He’s on track for the record...woohoo!
The only way to deal with Gitmo is to leave it right where it is and slowly execute about half it’s residents. The other half to be set free when hell freezes over.
He still has young family doesn’t he? I’m hoping no skeletons in his closet. When is Turbin Durbin up again?
My question what happens to the billions of dollars already earmarked for the federal government to purchase of the prison that was to house the gitmo critters in. The money is in the new budget proposal. Sounds like a devious way to send billions to the state of Illinois. Just asking.....
