This was needed 40 years ago. They have been debating high speed rail in my area since the mid 70’s. Every 3 yrs or so it comes back in the news and millions are spent on new studies. Then everybody goes back home.

Good luck getting anything built in the socialist republic of california without it costing 10xs what it should due to “environmental impact studies and union labor demands”.

One of our friends who travels all over the world said he loves the convenience of having a railroad or high speedrail so he doesn’t have to drive. Like when he goes to thebeer fests in Germany. Hee!

When it was brought up here in California, he said we are no where close to being ready for one. He said when people travel they want to arrive somewhere and everything convenient.Hotels, transportation, shopping, events. He said most of the speedrails proposed would leave them without those conveniences.

I thought aobut that. Think about all that would be taken over by eminent domain to make everything convenient, then have no one use them because Americans like their cars.
