As I posted on another thread:

The Spanish-language version of the Miami Herald (El Nuevo Herald) published this letter by “Ellie Light” this morning IN SPANISH.

It seems to me there are only two possibilities.

1) The organization behind this is translating the letter into Spanish and targeting Spanish media.

2) The editors at El Nuevo Herald translated it themselves and published it without doing any checking and obviously without being aware of the controversy of the last few days.

Neither conclusion says much good about the newspaper.

Hard to choose between the 2 possible reasons you list. But if I had to, I’d go with #1.

FYI.. It has been years now, but to this day people in Miami still have bumper stickers that say “Yo no creo El Herald.”
I don’t believe El Herald.
