Virginia gun owners to testify in Maryland?

********************************************** 2. Virginia gun owners to testify in Maryland? **********************************************

Some Maryland legislators have been encouraging Virginia gun owners to come to Maryland to testify on HB 52, a bill that would honor Virginia CHPs in Maryland.

The bill is going to be heard at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 26th, in the House Judiciary Committee, room 100, in Annapolis, MD. Get there early to sign up to speak on HB 52.

If it is critical to you to protect yourself just as you can in states like Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia using your Virginia CHP, then let the Judiciary Committee hear that. If you would come to Maryland more often and spend more money there because you could carry, testify to that, too.

If you can't make it to testify in person, then you can email your testimony to the bill's Patron, Delegate Michael Smigiel:

This is a brilliant idea. I wish I could go. This speaks to a larger point though. We need to start showing up at our Statehouses and demanding to speak with our Representatives. The State Reps need to start proceedings to prepare for the Federal government’s overreach. It is coming, and it will be by Federal fiat.

Our State governments need to understand that the People are watching and demand representation. The State is more important than the Federal government. I would gladly fall under the rule in Tallahassee if we seceded.

We’re not through the fog yet.

We: The people who live in Maryland would like to have the same rights to carry that other states have.

Just try to get a weapons permit in Maryland. It’s almost impossible, and although I would like to see this passed, I would much appreciate the right to carry in Maryland without going to Virginia or Florida to get a permit.

One of our dumb delegates wants the Maryland legislature to ratify the 17th Amendment. Maryland is one of the few states that did not. This delegate is an idiot, at least if you believe in state sovereignty.

From the bill Author / Sponsor.

I want to express how humbled I am to have your support concerning Maryland’s House Bill 52 – a law which permits the law abiding citizen whom has legally obtained a license to carry a regulated firearm from the state of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia to continue to carry their firearm into the State of Maryland without having to take it out of its holster and essentially lock it away.

As a concerned citizen just like you, I am angry why Maryland continues to reject the United States Constitution’s second amendment. The reality of passing this bill depends upon your continued and active support. Here are three ways you can support OUR fight:

1A. Come physically testify to the House of Delegates Judiciary Committee tomorrow at 1 PM about your position. If you are need more information on how to do that, please reply to this email or call my office at the number indicated below. You will need to sign up to testify around 11:30 AM and no later than noon.

1B. Submit written testimony to my office supporting this legislation. As a citizen, describe your take on the current tyranny concerning out-of-state firearm regulation in Maryland. Include as many details as possible concerning yourself and your position. You can submit a signed copy to my office by either fax or mail; both means are listed within my signature below. My office will make all necessary copies required and have your testimony formally submitted to the Judiciary Committee. You will receive verification from me upon receipt.

2. Join my Legislative Action Team and contact other members of the Maryland General Assembly to express your support of this bill. In addition to the above, your participating in this portion of the process will be extremely beneficial to allow fellow legislators to hear both sides of our argument.

3. Additonally, phone calls are extremely helpful and below you can find all the information you need for both emails and phone calls to the following Committee Legislators:
