Innocent Civilians Killed by IED

NEWS RELEASE ISAF Joint Command - Afghanistan

2010-01-CA-116 For Immediate Release

KABUL, Afghanistan (Jan. 23) - ISAF forces are assisting ANSF in securing the area around the Tagaz bazaar in Khan-Neshin district of Helmand province after an IED explosion killed two children and wounded two other civilians.

Initial reports indicate the explosion is the result of a suicide attack.

The wounded were being treated by ISAF at a nearby forward operating base.

"All indications are this is another example of the insurgents deliberately injuring and killing Afghan civilians and shows their lack of respect for the Afghan society," said Navy Capt. Jane Campbell, IJC spokesperson. "While ISAF forces go to great lengths to avoid harming innocent civilians, the insurgents regularly and purposefully place the children, men and women of Afghanistan in danger."

NEWS RELEASE ISAF Joint Command - Afghanistan

2010-01-CA-113 For Immediate Release

KABUL, Afghanistan (Jan. 23) - A young Afghan male was killed by an IED today in the Tanai district of Khost Province.

According to initial reports, the 16-year-old boy stepped on the IED.

There were no ISAF forces involved in this incident.

Recently released data by United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan confirms the total number of civilians killed last year in Afghanistan is regrettably up by 14 percent, predominately due to the insurgents and their indiscriminate use of road side bombs and other terror tactics which claimed more than 1,630 innocent lives in 2009.

The UNAMA report specifically highlights a 28 percent decrease in the number of accidental deaths caused by ISAF in 2009 compared to 2008. UNAMA attributes this decrease in accidental casualties as a result of ISAF's increasing effort to protect the Afghan population rather than engaging the insurgents directly.

Why do Muslims put up with other Muslims killing their kids?

Sure once in a while they kill an American or a Brit , but they kill a hell of a lot more Muslims that they do anything else.
