Palin to Visit Minnesota for Michele Bachmann Campaign

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is scheduled to visit Minnesota on April 7 to support Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign for re-election in the state's 6th congressional district.

"There is absolutely no one more in tune with the hearts and minds of everyday Americans than Governor Palin, and I'm excited to welcome her back to our beautiful state this spring," Bachmann said in a statement.

The announcement of Palin's visit in support of Bachmann comes on the heels of the Republican Scott Brown winning the election for Sen. Ted Kennedy's vacant seat . Democrats needed Martha Coakley to win the seat to secure a 60th vote to thwart Republican filibuster.

I hope she does not. I love Michelle Bachmann and I doubt Michelle would campaign for Juan McCain or Lindsay Graham-nesty. Bachmann knows McCain is a stinking RINOs.

If asked she would be required to campaign for McCain. McCain gave her a national forum. He personally has stood by her regardless of what his former campaign manager said about her. If she didn't campaign for him she would look like an ingrate and a jerk.

I for one hope that J.D. Hayworth wins the primary and takes the general election. Even if she felt the same way she could not avoid standing by John McCain.

I agree. Even though I would not vote or support McCain, Sarah would look petty and ungrateful if he personally asked her to campaign for him and she refused. Plus, I think she really admires him personally, even though she disagrees with him on a lot of issues. She’s in a no-win situation here, but the honorable one is to give McCain her support right now.

In reality McCain would be close to eighty by the end of the next term. He should consider retiring and helping Hayworth get elected to that seat. What happened in Massachusetts was a direct result of an old man too power hungry and greedy to put others in front of his own ambitions regardless of his abilities to do his job.

I for one am tired of the old men in D.C. putting their personal glory ahead of their constituents.

How effective was Strom Thurman the last three terms in office? How about Robert Byrd, he has to be carried in to the Senate Chamber in order to cast a vote. It is a travesty that these politicians don't know when it is time to exit the stage.

No, I was talking about Palin.

Palin will be campaigning for McCain, which should be expected considering she would still be the “gal who is governor of where?” without being on his team in 2008.

But many here will attempt to destroy her over it.

Yes she would, she owes McCain despite how she or anyone else feels about his politics. Without his taking her on she would still be that “cute gal who is governor where?”.

Sadly it will not been seen that way.

It is hard to keep the old guys from wanting to leave the glory days, and they know a good gig when they see it.

Toss your cane in the air if you are wanting to vote yes Sen. McCain...

I tend to agree. Has she committed to campaigning for McCain in a GOP primary, or only in the general election (or has she been vague)?

I’d have no problem at all with her campaigning for McCain against a liberal Democrat in the general election. As much as we all love Scott Brown right now, McCain is probably more conservative than Brown.

If Hayworth (who I’d obviously like to see win)runs, I’d rather Palin stay out for the primary, but I could understand her feeling obligated to suport McCain.

You are known by the company you keep. Juan McCain and his friends Crist, Graham-nesty, Mel Martinez are pro-amnesty.

I suggest Alaska take all the illegal Haitians Obama, Crist, Bush 2 and the Clintons want to jam down Florida’s throat. Illegals are destroying/bankrupting FL and America and McCain supports that.

re: J.D. Hayworth wins the primary and takes the general election

Amen! That would be the surest way to avoid putting Sarah in a tough place!

I would prefer JD to McCain anyway. As pointed out by another poster, it's time to get some young blood into Congress.

IMHO he asked for it because he knows he is in trouble.

IMHO go J.D. !!!

I will put you down in the “destroy Palin over this” camp. You won’t be the first.

Rep. Michele Bachmann is coming to ND in Feb for a Take Back Washington rally. Now because Sarah Palin is campaigning for both Bachmann and McCain, should I not go to the rally? I’m really not sure how far we should carry these “grudges” and could use some advice.
